Mizzou will take on Baylor in the first round of the Big 12 tourney on Thursday. If they win they get the pleasure of taking on the Texas Durants on Friday.

I think I've got the game plan down.

1. Beat Baylor

2. Have Berardini take out Durant at the knees(John Cheney old school)

3. Pray that OSU and Texas Tech take out kU and aTm

4. If not, repeat #2 with Anderson Jr. on Law and Dandridge on Julian Wright

Works for me. I'll call CMA.

Your plan is flawed. Julian Wright is made out of rubber. He has no knees.

Well, my nickname for Dandridge last year was Gumby, so maybe he can just meld him into a larger, more sucky claymonstrosity.

The fact that a Duke team with an 8-8 conf. record is a Top 15 team is a joke. Even after the loss to UNC some "experts" had them as a 3 or 4 seed in the NCAA

Well, they won't be a top 15 team now with that conference record when the polls come out today-and I don't think any serious bracketologist has them as a 3 or a 4 seed either. CBS Sportsline has them as an 8 and ESPN has them as a 7.

I think you have to wait and see how t7hey play in the ACC Tourney. if they goo out in the first two rounds, they will be a 6 or 7, IMO. But if they win the tourney, they couyld be as high as a 3, I'd wager.

BTW: Jon Scheyer? OVER-RATED!

True-I was just saying what they are right now. Championship Week can change everything-I mean, Syracuse was out of the tournament entering the Big East Tournament last year, and moved all the way up to a 5 seed by winning it-conference tournaments have a huge impact on seeding, so Duke could go either way right now.

i always thought the conference tourney had little to do with seeding. the title games are usually still being played while they're working on the brackets.

The Sunday finals have sometimes little to do with their seeding-the conference tournaments overall though can have a huge effect on seeding-a team can move up several lines on the seeding charts by going deep into their tournament (obviously, the higher you go, especially once you get to 3rd seed or so, it starts getting much harder to move up). For example, I think Indiana can be anywhere between a 4 seed and a 11 seed depending on their performance in the Big 10 tournament.

my memory is not so good now so i cant give specific examples, but i've always remember as these tourneys being not much of a factor. and maybe for good reason-they've played a whole season, whats 1 week got to do with it. lately there seems to be more parity and many teams in the 15-35 spots that are all close, so maybe these tourneys will carry more weight than in the past.

regardless, I can't picture Duke getting out of the first weekend. there is nothing impressive about that team at all.

They are very limited inside and have several players who have difficulty getting their own shot (Scheyer, McRoberts, etc.).

Illinois has made it to the semis of the btt every year it has been in Chicago. This years squadron should be able to take care of that little streak with another great performance, also known as peeing down your own leg in close meaningful games.

New polls out. AP top 5 is OSU, Kansas, Wisconsin, UCLA, Memphis. Coaches poll top 5 is OSU, Kansas, UCLA, Wisconsin, Memphis. OSU is a near unanimous #1 in both polls as Kansas got 2 and 1 first place votes in the AP and coaches poll.

13th and 14th in the polls after a loss. Not bad.

We're still behind Louisville, who we plastered two months ago. Oh, well, if there's any justice, the Irish will smack them in the Big East title game.

does anyone else think memphis benefits from playing in conference usa and are not a top 5 team? i've seen them play several times this year and always come away unimpressed mainly because of the teams they beat.

George Mason is looking to make a miracle run to the NCAA tournament. They are the sixth seed in the CAA and are facing top seeded VCU in the championship game. Mason is down 2 with 5:11 to go.

VCU is carried on the back of guard Eric Maynor to the victory.

The conference tourneys have been good to the bubble teams thus far.(Appalachian St. losing to a non-Davidson team, VCU winning, Winthrop winning, Creighton winning. Bubbles I guess root for Gonzaga, but I just don't think they deserve to be an at large.

I agree. I don't see Gonzaga getting in if Santa Clara beats them today nor do I think they deserve to.
