Anybody heard anything new on Richard McBride of Illinois? Has he been reinstated? I hope not.

Anyway, I'm going to the KU/Washburn exhibition game tonight at Allen Fieldhouse. Looking forward to seeing the "Phog" in person. I should wear my all Illini gear to the game.

how was it? did you like afh? I heard darrell Arthur looked awesome.

Apparently Louisville barely beat Georgetown College. At least that's what Petino said during the "revolving guests in the booth" at the WVU/Louisville game last night

This is what happens when you have two coaches at the same school with names that are too much a like!

Petino is the supervillain created when Pitino and Petrino's DNA was mixed after a toxic waste mishap at Louisville's homecoming parade

The Top 7(same in both polls with slightly different order) are from 7 different conferences. Impressive.

That is nice to see and what's even more strange is that they let the teams decide it on the court. What was North Carolina's record last year?

They were pretty young too weren't they? This ought to be an interesting year.

Yes they were. I don't know any of the names off hand other than Hansbrough but I'm pretty sure, with the exception of one player, that a majority of the team last year were freshman and sophomores after the mass exodus of players from the National Championship team.

DePaul won their final exhibition game vs. Lewis 77-70. Bring on Bradley!

Is that the same Lewis Illinois destroyed without McBride or Randle? Yeah I thought so. Illinois is either gonna be pretty goodagain, or DePaul is really, really bad.

DA looked like your best player. Very impressive.

Bold prediction: Illinois and Villanova finish ahead of FSU in the final rankings.

Seriously...FSU??

I think people focus more on who a team lost from last year than on the overall talent of the team this year when voting in the preseason polls.

Wisky wins their first exhibition: 82-33

Jesus that had to be fun for the other guys. Who did you play?

Some D-III team (UW-Stout I think). I feel bad for those kids. Who wants to be some teams whipping boy?

Just like to point out that Ball State has to play No. 3 Kansas (in Vegas) and No. 7 Georgetown (on the road) in the span of 4 days later this month. That ought to be fun. But then again, last time we played Kansas:

Who cares about these crap teams like Kansas, Illinois and Missouri. What about HOLY CROSS? OK, so nobody cares, but I think they'll be pretty good this year. And, I'll get to watch them twice on TV this year - at Syracuse on 11/27 on ESPNU, and a December 6 made-for-TV slaughter at Duke on ESPN2. Both the games against Bucknell (probably the best team in the conference) will be on ESPNU as well.

Holy cross is tradtionally a tough 1st round out, aren't they?

FSU has some talent. Al Thornton, Isaiah Swann, Jason Rich. I think they've got a kid coming in from AUburn, too, and a talented Frosh pg. They could be decent. They just have to be more consistent.

Yeah, played Kentucky to a 4 point game in '01, led Kansas midway thru the second half in '02, and were tied with Marquette in '03 with about 2 minutes left in the game. Kentucky and Kansas made the Final Four in '02 and '03. One of these years we'll break through, but we have to do it before our coach leaves or retires. He's good.

Holy Cross will probably be better than Mizzou.
