Does anyone know when the Big Ten Media Day is?

Illinois suspended Roger McBride for 4 games. I guess based on what Illinois fans said, this being his second offense and the fact that he blew a .18 I thought it would have been higher.

No news on Tyler Smith and Mike Henderson's suspensions yet. I think they'll probably miss the exhibitions and the first two regular season games.

How's your team looking?

I have no idea. I can only hope that Anderson's system makes a big difference, and Keon Lawrence continues to score like a madman like he was doing during the summer. I think at the very least it will be more exciting to watch than last year, and I don't think it's possible to get blown out more often than we did last year.

Yeah, I have no expectations going into this year, but I am excited for the change. I just wanna make the tourney once before I'm out of here.

I think Anderson will do well in a couple of years if he can recruit at all. But this year...I don't know. There seems to be a dearth of talent, and that combined with learning a new system.... Could be rough. Luckily, the B12N is going to be so bad, you'll still scoop up some wins. ISU and CU look atrocious.

Yeah, thankfully the non-conference schedule is a joke with 9 winnable home games before we go to Purdue and then to STL for the Illinois game. Things should be interesting this year.

ND plays Rockhurst tonight in an exhibition at the Joyce. But I'm still on a "Chris Quinn got numerous meaningful minutes in the game last night" high. :D

Our starting center, Sasha Kaun, blew out a knee, out 3-6 weeks. His backup kickde off the team for academics/personal reasons.

As long as Kaun comes back okay, we should be fine. Probably can't beat florida now over Thanksgiving, but at least our Mcd AA freshman PF will get a lot of early playing time.

ND 79, Rockhurst 44. The starting five as I expected was McAlarney, Carter, Falls, Kurz and Zeller. The surprise was true freshman Luke Harangody, who piled up a game-high 17 points and 4 boards in just 21 minutes. 10/8 out of Carter and 11/10 from Kurz looked promising. This is a likable team and hopefully they can give me a fun season.

Penn State lost their leading scorer in the first 10 minutes of the first exhibition game. Geary Claxton broke a bone in his pinkie finger when he wacked it off the rim on a tip in. He's expected out only 2 weeks.

PSU and DePaul are the teams I'll be following this year.

Anybody heard anything new on Richard McBride of Illinois? Has he been reinstated? I hope not.

Anyway, I'm going to the KU/Washburn exhibition game tonight at Allen Fieldhouse. Looking forward to seeing the "Phog" in person. I should wear my all Illini gear to the game.

I thought that I heard that McBride had been suspended for 4 games. It was about 2 weeks ago, so I'm not sure about that..can any Illini fans confirm?

I've been on the floor at Allen Fieldhouse, but I've never been in there during a game. That's something I'd like to experience. Same with UNC and Cameron Indoor. They're all pretty amazing to see in person.

Have fun. AFH is a great place to catch a game. Hopefully it will be rocking since it's the season opener. And don't let them give you grief RE your Illini stuff. Send it right back.

Are you going to be in the student section or an assigned seat?

I saw Syracuse play their first scrimmage last night. Boeheim has to do something with the seniors because they just have not gotten better except for Roberts. Harris is a very good player but needs to improve his jumper. We should have a competitve team but I saw a lot things I didn't like and until that changes I expect to win some tough games and lose some easy ones.

SIU beat DII Quincy, 70-64. Not impressive at all, but we were without our best player, Jamaal Tatum, as well as Jamal Foster. Quincy looked like a legit team, but we played pretty pathetic tonight. A lot of passing the rock around with guys not really getting open. Our defense is going to win a ton of games this year, but if we have no offense like last year, we're going to have a short stay in the tourney once again.

Our freshman Josh Bone broke a bone in his foot last week and is out 4-6 weeks :( Couple that in with the torn ACL for Christian Cornelius and we're suddenly back to only around 9 deep now. We have another exhibition game on Sunday afternoon against Henderson State before our first regular season game next Friday.
