hey, if it makes you guys feel better to blame Skiles, have at it. It's not his fault that Gordon and Hinrich got two early fouls each. It's also not to his credit that Brown had a great night. Just like in baseball, all you can do is put guys in situations and its up to them to perform. If you don't like his rotations, subs, etc., fine, I can see that. But no game is solely the fault of the coach

I know, but what is damning for Skiles is when players who were struggling here go to other cities and play much better.

Skiles is a particular style of coach. He's also a shooter from way back. It's not a suprise then that his teams are basically reliant on the shooter and can't develop a big man. The only question in my mind is, can we win a title with Skiles? I don't think so.

well Cartwright was a big man who couldn't develop Chandler either. If you want to blame Paxson for the Curry trade, I have no problem with that, though I think the "future heart problems" was a convenient excuse for trading a player that they just didn't think was willing to work hard or stay in shape.

I understand why we traded Curry, and I'm fine with that. The Chandler trade, I wasn't too thrilled about, but I dealed with it. The problem I have was trading away Tim Thomas and JR Smith for basically nothing. Thomas was sensational in the playoffs last year and Smith was having a great season this year before he got hurt. The way Skiles handled the situation with both of those guys was a joke.

Gotta tip your cap, right?

no, but it wasn't terribly surprising that a bad road team lost to a great home team in a playoff style game.

Thomas' 12.95 PER this season strongly suggests last year's playoff performance was a fluke. It was his ticket to another multi-year loafing cycle at the very least. I'm glad the Bulls wanted nothing to do with him.

And Skiles and Smith never worked with each other.

About to lose to Orlando at home.

This is the most inconsistant team I've seen...well, with the exception of last year's team. Ever since we had that 9 game winning streak, it seems like we win a couple, then lose a couple, win one, lose one, etc.

Just extremely frustrating to see us crap the bed against a team not even in the top 8 in the East.

Oh and then an offensive rebound at the end of the game seals the deal.

Thanks for not adding someone with height.

"Someone with height" is Nocioni. Until he's healthy, we have to put up with more minutes from Griffin, Brown and Allen. He can't get back soon enough

I'll agree, we're a much better team with Nocioni. But Skiles has to get over his stupid fetish of the 3 guard lineup and LEAVE Tyrus in the game. He's our second best defender and when he was in, we were playing our best. When Skiles took him out with 6 minutes left, the Magic went on a run, the 3 guard lineup sucked again, and we took another loss.

Tyrus needs more playing time with Nocioni out. Why guys such as Brown, Allen, Sweetney, and Griffin are getting PT over him, I'll never know.

be careful about saying anything bad about John Paxson around here.

I dont know where that comment came from. I don't think anyone has blindly defended him. The only times I see people really defend his moves is when people jump to the conclusion that he should be fired. I think he's done a wonderful job turning this team around and making us into a perenial playoff team.

I think Skiles should play Tyrus Thomas more, but that has nothing to do with Paxson. Paxson has assembled a pretty solid team that can compete in the present and still have a very bright future. I'm pleased with the job he's done so far.

scott skiles will never lead a team deep into the playoffs. he's a perfect college coach, he can coach bad players up, but very good players almost always underperfrom under him. he's a good example of a player killer, and has been running good players out of town since he's been here.

we'd be best to fire him and bring in someone with some positive experience in dealing with NBA personalities.

good luck in the NCAA's scott, maybe izzo will retire soon.

.....and no sooner did I say we're playing well without Noc, they start to SUCK and show why we need him in there.

I know people are sick of hearing it, but this team is REALLY YOUNG. I mean, look at Detroit and the amount of experience that team has, not only in the playoffs, but just in the league. Then compare them to the Bulls, whose core is all players who have been in the league 4 years or less.

It isn't hard to assemble a perianial playoff team, especially in the east. I'm still convinced he doesn't understand the concept of inside scoring.

Do you Chicago people realize that your teams play in the worst conferences/leagues in pro sports, except for hockey? The Cubs in the NL, Bears in the NFC and the Bulls in the East?

I've actually thought about that before. Atlanta is the same way too.

The Central Division is pretty good. Four of the five teams are over .500. It's the rest of the East that stinks.

True but you have to admit overall the Chicago teams are a little lucky in this regard.

I don't see your point. So would somebody who is a Knicks, Mets, Giants and Rangers fan. What about Philly fans?

Furthermore, it's not like this is a hard and fast rule. The NFC used to reign, and will again. The NBA West wasn't always dominant. Neither was the AL.
