This is why the SEC annoys me.

They play each other and no one else and it propells them to the top spot? Georgia is so good because they beat Colorado by 1 and a 1-4 Mississippi by 5? Auburn with Buffalo, Arkansas St and Tulane...yeah, they better be undefeated with that non-conference schedule too. I don't deny that this is a talented conference, it's just too many of the top teams don't have the balls to play a home and home against real teams. Why..."because our conference is so tough we have to play D2 schools"...that's just the reason why they have inflated records and the conference is so tough. Ohio St plays Texas...Michigan plays ND...Iowa, well they did skate in theirs. WV did skate in theirs while Louisville played Miami and Kansas St. USC playes ND after playing Nebraska.

I guess the point of my rant is that I get annoyed at teams just playing good teams in their conference and 4 patsies. WV is guilty of this too this year even though they did play Marshall and Maryland which is Marylands only loss but Maryland has played nothing but weak teams.

Georgia is crazy overrated.

TN will beat Georgia this weekend...

...Auburn dominated Washington St. during the first game of the year....i do agree that their other non-conference opponents are patsies.

NC State beat Florida State tonight. Chuck Amato seems to have his former boss's number.

One of the things I've always disliked about Florida St players is that always run out of bounds with the ball.....well not always but you know what I mean. They run out of bounds yards before contact, they have no heart.

That is something that more and more teams are doing. Weis has told his players to do the same. Walker does it all the time. I have seen Bush do it quite a bit as well, with USC and the Saints.

Georgia still has to play Tennessee, at Florida, at Auburn, and Georgia Tech. They won't be overrated at the end of the year.

That's the thing. They go 500 or even win just 1 and they go 10-2 9-3 at the worst and big bowl bucks.

If Georgia finishes 9-3 (which would mean they would lose at least 2 SEC games) they would likely finish behind the teams they lost to as well as LSU. Georgia is looking at being the fourth or fifth best team in the SEC at the end of the year. That won't be big bowl bucks.

And what's the difference between the SEC and the ACC? Florida St. gets the benefit of the doubt year after year even though in the last four years they have 16 losses. And they have 2 so far this year as well. How about the Big 11? Michigan and Ohio State are highly rated every single year. It's not just the SEC that gets the benefit of the doubt year in and year out.

The ACC is worse this year and I smile as I write that. I agree that Florida St and other big names get the benefit of doubt and have to lose while other schools start at the bottom and work up. Plus, since these 2 leagues that mentioned have a "playoff" it gives them an added excuse not to play any tough out of conference teams.

I really dispise the fact that writers have ANYTHING to do with who plays in the championship or polls. The good ole boys in this are just like the ones in politics, they are inbedded into it and won't let go.

And a 10-2 Georgia will always get the benefit of doubt and bowl bucks. That's why they play these schedules....go 2-2 in the marque games and you can't lose.

Honestly Cuse, how much are you loving the state of the ACC right now? What a horrible conference.

GO GA TECH!!

A smile comes on my face with each loss. But, could you imagine if Miami, VTech and BC stayed along with what the BE added what this conference would look like? Louisville has class, something Miami never had along with a very good basketball program. BC is the only school that really hurt because of where they are from. VTech kids are just punks.

I like having 8 teams, 9 would be better. I think it's good to play each team in the conference once to determine a real champion.

Why does Northwestern always play on weird nights?

They're playing at 11 AM on Saturday.

I just found out that Colbert will be the grand marshal for the homecoming parade (two weeks, night before game against Michigan State). Needless to say, I think I'll be attending my first homecoming parade since I was in elementary school.

It's a shame that this is the last Northwestern/Wisconsin matchup before 2009. Wisconsin is the closest school to Northwestern and have really enjoyed a good rivalry against them (meaning beating them in crazy fashion at times) over the years. NU won't play either Wisconsin or Penn State the next two years. But in both 2009 and 2010, Northwestern and Wisconsin will face each other to close the season on rivalry weekend. That should be good.

And Heinz is probably out at least another week after this. He'll probably end up playing one game (the Sun Bowl) in his last two years of school at this rate.

Northwestern will defer.

Wow. Brewer 5/5 passing so far, threw a great ball to Thompson, who made a great catch, and now Wisconsin turns it over. 10-6.

Of course, Howells' PAT was blocked (shocking...) and Sutton is hurt.

Sutton back in there after suffering a mild concussion.

Northwestern wastes a 1st and goal opportunity from the 7. But in true miracle fashion, Howells actually made the FG. 10-9 Wisconsin.

juice just threw another long touchdown, this time on a flea flicker

I'm mad that I didn't get Juice in time off the waiver wire in my college fantasy league. And the guy starting against me has him. :x
