Great job by our local FOX affiliate.

The Redskin/Texan finishes early, so what do they do? Switch to Packers/Lions. After that game finished, instead of going to the Bear game, they run commercials.

:x

Oh well. This win feels real nice.

Tommie Harris is a beast.

WOW! Great job to pull that one off. Harris with a huge play, should get the gameball (actually had a huge sack earlier in the game that changed things).

I can't believe they won....Vikings fans must be stunned.

Honestly, even if they lost, I would contend that the Bears are the better team after seeing them both on the field...if they lost, it was a result of poor coaching and stupid decisions.

Woooo that came last part of the game was awesome. Tommie Harris = stud!

Raison asked me to fill in for him while he's gone so I'm going to get Week 4 up later tonight. BEAR DOWN!!

Since Fox decided that commercials were more beneficial to us in Rams territory rather than the game, can someone explain what happened on 4th and 2?

Well that sucked.

I think all of you Bears fans should realize that the Vikings really aren't much of an inferior team. We neutralized your defensive front pretty well, rattled Grossman a little bit and broke off some runs with a decent passing game.

We don't do anything great, but do everything pretty well. Our defense is better than most expect or give us credit for, simply because the Vikings haven't had a defense in so long. I know some of you will say otherwise, but it wasn't that the Bears played that poorly, we just played pretty well. The division will be more of a dogfight than most of you may think. This is a Vikings team that is well coached and doesn't kill itself. Oh and we can actually keep teams out of the end zone every once in a while.

I'm satisfied to come out of this stretch 2-1 and prove that we're a pretty solid team that can go toe to toe with the Bears.

That fumbled handoff was the game. I can't believe it.

They were lucky to win that game...offense, defense, coaching all were terrible today. Someone needs to hide Lovie's red flag.

Had they won, the Vikings would have been lucky to win that game. All their offense could muster was 3 FGs. We committed a ton of penalties, threw the ball right at them several times, and played generally sloppy all day. The Metrodome is a tough place to play on the road, and the Vikings had home field advantage. Neither team looked particularly sharp, but I think the Bears made several more unforced mistakes, yet still managed to win on the road. My opinion of Minnesota's defense is up *a little*, my overall opinion of them remains largely unchanged. I predicted they'd score 9 points on us, I should have specified that was all the defense would have give up (darned INT...).

I'm here to eat crow. The Vikings are WAY better than I thought they were. Great game, the Vikings have nothing to be ashamed of.

Same here. But I still have to say, this wouldn't have been nearly as close if the Bears played the way they can. Just call me Roy Williams.. :P

I think its obvious that the Vikings are a good team. Before the game, I considered them a fringe playoff team. Now I view them as a solid 9-7 or 10-6 wild card team. Possibly even better. Viknigs have a pretty easy stretch coming up save the games against New England and the Giants. Anyways, sorry it got testy in here, you cant blame Bears fans for getting confident over our team after the way we played the first 2 weeks.

ANY FANTASY GURUS: I'm in a league on Yahoo, does the INT for a TD go against the Bears defense? In other words, do I get points for giving up 9 points or 16 points?

It depends on the rules for your league. In some leagues it does, but in most it doesn't.

I'm pretty sure it'll be 16, but like Vance said, it may vary on the league. I doubt Yahoo separates for offensive, defensive, or special teams scores.

It's a private league, but with standard Public League stats.

Don't worry about it, I know how it is.

I know why most Bears and fans around the league don't take us very seriously. The thing is, this team is well coached, won't kill themselves and plays solid defense. We haven't seen any of those three things from the Vikings in years. It's a totally different team.

Our defense and limiting turnovers on offense will keep us in most every game. At the same time unless our offense can score touchdowns when they get in the red zone, it will be tough to overtake the Bears. I think we did show that the Bears offense isn't as good as some thought and Rex can be rattled or confused with pressure.

Like I said before the season I would have been more than satisfied with a 2-1 start. We have the Bills and Lions heading into the bye, then come out with Seattle and New England. After those 4 games we'll know how good the Vikes can be.

I haven't read the entire thread, but my impression after watching the game is that the Vikings are a good team, likely a Wild Card, but the Bears basically took total control of the division. Playing division teams in the first three weeks, two of them on the road, and going 3-0 is HUGE. If the Bears can beat Seattle next week, I'll start accepting concession speeches from the rest of the teams in the division. :D OK, slight overstatement since it's still early.

I knew the Vikings would give the Bears offense trouble because of how they like to blitz. Grossman loses his mind under pressure, and you guys did a good job of taking advantage of that, although you could have had up to 5 INTs today.

I won't concede any more to them. They didn't "neutralize" our defensive front...they managed less than 100 yards on the ground, less than 200 in the air, and only put up 3 FGs. They did a decent job keeping us off of the QB, that was about it. Considering they gave Johnson as good of protection as they could conceivably expect, it didn't boost the offense at all. We knew our weakspot was our offensive line, you did do a good job exploiting that, I'll give credit there. That was a close one on the road, I'm predicting a lopsided contest in Chicago next time.

Seattle looking good early.

Big game next Sunday night.

Here's hoping they have a down day next week...

edit: They = the seahawks, of course

Anyone else not impressed with Jones? I was disappointed APete didn't get his usual series to change the tempo up a little. I hope Benson gets more of a look next week too.

Jones starts his running game back up again, Grossman throws a touchdown pass, but also an interception. Bears defense stuff the Viking run and sack the QB four times. Gould kicks in three points.

17-7 Bears

Didn't get to see the game, too hungover, but I clearly underestimated Minnesota.
