It's clear Loria is a psychopath. While Girardi may not be without fault, I find it really hard to side with the same who was brought in to sabotage baseball in Montreal.

I am a big fan of Girardi and wanted the Cubs to bring him last off season and fire Baker. I would be happy if they could do it this off season, thats for sure. Either Girardi or Gonzalez sound good to me. Dierker sounds good. I wanted Leyland, too, but that boat has already sailed.

Loria is angry that the team is doing better than he thought it would, preventing him from trying to move it.

My name is Rachel Phelps, not Jeff Loria!

I shudder to think of the possibility that the Marlins have a cardboard cutout of Jeffrey Loria in their clubhouse!

Reports out of NY is that girardi will be let go at the end of the season and the Marlins are going to target Fredi Gonzalez as the next manager. I think that girardi will be the next manager of the Cubs. It just feels right...

Works for me. Although, I think the facial hair thing is a little overboard. These players are grown men, treat them as such. Just my opinion.

"He's continually trying to teach us something, whether we're winning by eight runs or losing by one," Willis says.

Interesting...one manager loves to teach.

Another manager loves to sit in the dugout, suck his toothpick, and play

with his son.

I have a fealing Joe will not be the Cubs manager. Joe has a such a commitment to winning. While Hendry, and MacPhail, have shown a commitment

to failure. Its what they are. Failures in life. They realish it. They love it.

Jimy Williams will be the next Cubs manager and this mess will conitnue on for another decade.

Some of those decisions are rather questionable, although I think starting Nolasco and Johnson in the minors would have been justified. Johnson and Nolasco spent significant portions of last year in AA and could have benefited from some more seasoning in AAA (especially since Nolasco bombed at AAA when the Cubs tried him there).

I can't say Girardi's going to be the perfect manager, but it's clear he would be an upgrade and would provide some much-needed accountability.

I'm a Girardi fan, but this article - if the reports are true - make him sound quite capable of very bad decisions.

"For instance, back in spring training, according to two Marlins sources, here's some changes Girardi pushed for: Miguel Cabrera from third to first base; Dan Uggla not at second base but in left field; Josh Willingham at catcher, not Miguel Olivo; Alfredo Amezaga might not have made the team; and young pitchers like Ricky Nolasco and Josh Johnson would have started in the minor leagues."

Compare those decisions to starting Neifi at 2nd Base and batting him 2nd, letting pitchers throw 120+ pitches in a game, etc.

Where are these leaks coming from? Sounds like Marlins' management is playing dirty and pushing for and early exit from Girardi.

Look at how Hendry and Co. are dealing with Dusty's exit (deserved or not). Class. We might even offer Dusty a 1 year contract which he'll decline just for both sides to save face. Marlins management is actually trying to damage Girardi's credibility. Who would want to coach for a team like that?

As far as I know, Willingham showed zero ability to play LF before this season. His offensive numbers as a catcher are solid. As a LF they are mediocre. If he was such a bad backstop, he should have changed positions long before this season. The scouts and baseball department had more input in that decision over a longer period of time than Girardi did. Cabrera is no defensive wizard at 3B. Moving him to 1B isn't the worst idea I've heard. Nolasco didn't exactly rock AAA and earn a promotion. Johnson skipped AAA and wasn't anything special in AA. It's pretty unfair to rip someone who saw 1 ST of these guys before offering up those opinions. Who's Almezaga? LOL

Uggla seems to be the one one I can't justify. Girardi was wrong once. Big whoop.

Alfredo Amezaga, is a very versitle bench player. He is like the Pablo Ozuna of the Marlins. He is one of those players, that has alot of value on a playoff team.

Great reply! And so true!

I'm with RichHillisaBeast, those decisions really don't seem like that bad of ideas. And bemoaning him not wanting to breaking camp with a guy with a MLB career line of 207/265/.313????(Who happens to be 28)
