I love FSC, but I think it is akin to a starving person loving liver if you served it to him.

 

This is a very apt comparison.

 

The US commentators are garbage. The Fox Soccer Report guys are ok. The guys doing EPL games are just the regular EPL announcers, so I'm not giving FSC credit for tapping into that feed. The Fox Fone In guys suck.

 

haha, wolf, that's an excellent way of putting it. the guy who does play by play for the mls matches, max something, is pretty brutal with his goal calls.

 

i forgot about fox football fone-in, again, i watch it because they talk about soccer. nick webster isn't bad, but steven cohen is a hack. he's a even a chelsea supporter and i can't stand him.

 

the prem announcers from sky sports are usually pretty damn good.

I agree with your FFF assessment re: Webster and Cohen. Cohen sucks.

When I got home and watched that game on tape, I couldn't believe that goal call. It was absurd. Does he think the FSC audience is going to pick up onthe Elton John reference?

Its a really poor reference, too, unless Feilhaber is a regular wearer of ludicrous wigs/glasses. Like scoring a goal against the Czech Republic and the commentator shouting 'Oh, that is a Bo-he-mian Rhapsody'. No need.

 

That said, its often the bad bits of commentary that get remembered.

Be prepared to be upset. I think he's going to start on the left, if only so I can have a flashback to the most disasterous, stupid decision of Bruce Arena's USMNT tenure.

 

There friendlies should be all about preparing the young guys for WCQ's. Not for guys like Lewis and Twellman to take up space.

Maybe with Szetela, who really isn't a prospect like some of our other guys, but I think Freddy will get 30-40 minutes. He's finally getting time at Benfica, and I think he gets rewarded. I'd love love love to see him start behind Clint, but I doubt Bradley would be so bold as to do that. I think he comes on at about the 55th minute or so, give or take. The most important thing is that he gets in the damn game and gets cap-tied, though. This is an A international, no ifs, ands or buts.
