Mourinho's "press conference" was great. Sorry that one call went against you, Jose. It was only the first penalty you've conceded all year (compared to 7 taken). His home record should have ended earlier this year against West Brom had it not been for a penalty call in Chelsea's favor so this was just a little evening out.

So I recently moved to KC and going to Sporting games is the thing to do. Went to the match against Cruz Azul. It was my first pro soccer game at any level (not counting the Sting back in the day), and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the game.

But I know almost nothing about MLS. I've gathered bits and pieces that KC plays a defensive style, maybe the MLS equivalent of the Nashville Predators?

Are they favorites or even contenders to repeat? My wife gets tickets often through work and we're going again in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

Sporting are a really, really solid team; its hard to call favorites so early, but they are certainly one of the top 4 sides in the league, I think. I don't know that they'll win Supporters Shield if only because they'll be without Besler and Zusi for a month, but MLS Cup wise, they're in the mix.

The organization post-rebrand is amazing and Sporting Park is a great, great atmosphere.

One thing that I will say is that Peter Vermes is a little too in love with his hard working hacks, and doesn't always let the attacking players run wild as much as I would if I were him.

Thanks! Looked up Supporters Shield. Like the President's Trophy. Got it.

Sounds like Moyes is done at ManU. Curious to who is going to want this job. Do they poach Everton again?

Again? Might be a hard sell to go down that route (not that that is a terribly rational thought process).

You'd think they would look at Klopp or Simeone.

They're very skilled, but not as skilled as the elite offensive teams and they're also extremely physical. The Blues would be a good hockey comparison.

Klopp would be the best fit, IMO. At least he'd know how to use Kagawa.

The Blues are an excellent comp, actually.

Qatar Is Canceling Four Of Its 12 Planned World Cup Stadiums

After a year of ballooning costs, delays, and controversy over its labor practices, Qatar is cutting back. According to a report from Bloomberg Businessweek, organizers have decided to drastically scale back plans to construct a dozen new stadiums for the 2022 World Cup.

Though no official reason was given for cutting four stadiums from the country's plans, an analyst told Businessweek that the decision was "motivated by cost-cutting following an assessment of the real needs on the ground." Qatar is planning to spend at least $200 billion building infrastructure and buildings for the World Cup. That includes gigantic air-conditioning systems planned for some venues, because summer temperatures in Qatar can hover around 122 Fahrenheit.

Bayern-Real should be a significantly more entertaining tie.
