We really felt the absence of Zusi's defense in the second half. His D is exactly why I think he's a lock at RMF and we'll see Fabian Johnson at right back vs Portugal.

Landon needs to get healthy, he really didn't look that fit even with the bothersome knee. Excited about Yedlin in the future if he can really shore up his D.

Portland v Seattle on NBC Sports is shaping up to be a classic. 2-2 36 minutes in. Fast, physical and the crowd is deafening.

Yedlin gift wrapped it for Martens who blew it AGAIN. National camp gave Yedlin some confidence. He's been great. Dominated Nagbe.

Portland very Liverpool today. About 5 great minutes total that led to 4 goals. Seattle figured something out in the second half with this 4-4-2. Gave them width with Yedlin and Neagle on the right. That was a hell of a game. Dempsey just took over after Neagle came in. Could have had 4 goals and 2 assists. That second goal was classic Clint.

 

Martens blocked 3 Sounders goals just from getting in the way. He was their best defender.

That was the best game national team fans could've wished for. Clint bossed it, but Yedlin! Didn't matter who they threw at him. He ran Nagbe off the park, who never gets run off the park, he ran Zemanski off the park who had fresh legs 75 minutes into DA's shift, he drew the tying pk and he faced the ball off the line that would've made it 5-2 Portland.

 

Coming out game for him on the biggest stage the regular season has to offer. On the road against the rivals, marking the best, fastest left mf in the league and right after a good game vs our biggest international rival when some guys come back to their clubs a little too pleased with themselves to put in that kind of effort.

I thought Nagbe really had Yedlin in the first half, but he was consistently left on an island. The formation shift gave him support and allowed him to get forward more as well. Really a great match-up between two really strong players in MLS. I can't wait until Nagbe is eligible for the USMNT at the end of next year.

Considering Cooper & Azira offered nothing defensively and the woeful, slow, dumb Anibaba was covering his inside flank, Yedlin was as good as anyone could be in the first half vs Nagbe.

Cooper makes very, very bad decisions on the ball. If you are going to play a player with poor decision making skills, you should at least play Neagle and get work rate along with it.

Yedlin did as well as he could have being constantly hung out to dry. Sigi never adjusted to the way Harrington would overload that side and leave Yedlin marking 2 guys, effectively. Cooper offered nothing tracking back.
