After ignoring an open Deuce on goal twice, Martins finally found him for a goal that feels like it might have broke the dam.

Deuce receiving the ball at his feet at the edge of the 18 is how you score lots of goals, Seattle.

Tons of confidence in that strike too. He could have left it off for Cooper for an easy goal, but that's not the Deuce we need in 3 months.

Chelsea are selfdestructing. Two reds, Ramires is going to get suspended for several games and Guzan gets the shutout win.

That was great. Mourinho lost his [expletive] also. He's a great manager but I can't stand the guy.

This, if ever manages the US I'll love him, but not till then. Pretty sure him and Gregg Popovich took the same public speaking class.

This has been a fun episode of MLS DP theater. Michael Bradley was by far the most influential player, Defoe had two chances and clinically converts both of them while Deuce raged against the storm and Sigi's absurd first half game plan/Marco Pappa's shittiness leading to zero width and a midfield suffocated single-handed by the General, forcing Clint to tryi to do way too much, a la the early days of the Bex experiment.

In the end, Sigi finally subbed Pappa, Neagle and Yedlin combined for some width on the right and Martins found Deuce for an angry goal, but too late.

Once again Seattle better but Sigi waiting too long to get it right.

Yeah, Pappa and Neagle are useless. They give the ball away constantly. But Clint was in open spots in the 18 like 4 times, and they missed him each time.

Bradley was stroooooong.

That was a very entertaining game. Love this league.

I didn't understand this tweet when I saw it but now it makes a lot more sense.

@WillParchman Osorio just took Marco Pappa and stuck him inside a Matryoshka doll and then sold him in an Estate Sale for a very low price.

Might be the nail in Manu's coffin today. Arsenal need a win today. If the top 4 teams with games in hand pick up max points we could have 4 teams within3 points.

I don't think one of the NBC announcers has ever said a bad word about Townsend. The dude has one good game for England and all of a sudden he's the next great English hope when the reality is he can't use his right foot, all he does is shoot from 25 yards out without scoring (the only EPL goal he's scored this year was a cross) and send in useless crosses that often amount to nothing. But if you listen to the announcers, he's never had a bad game for Spurs this year. He's always working hard, getting into dangerous positions and having his teammates let him down.

Also, this team stinks. I hope ManU passes Spurs so they miss out on the Europa League next year but I'm sure they'll find a way to finish sixth and make the EL again.

Also, I think if you dive in the box and the other player gets sent off - like what happened with Sturridge/Vidic today - that when they overturn the red card, the player who dove should get it. Make it harsh enough that they stop doing it. The red card during the match kills off the other team and if you deceive the ref and help your team out one game, you should be banned for a couple games.

To be fair to Sturridge, United could have given up 5 penalties today. The dive wasn't great, but Vidic could have easily been carded anyway for getting in his face like a psychopath.

Sturridge was just an example from today. That sentiment goes for anyone who does it. I'm not talking about the borderline ones where it's more embellishment than flop. But with Sturridge, there was no contact at all and he went down.

If we want to rid diving from the game, the penalties need to be harsh. Hand out yellow cards after the fact for blatant dives. If a guy already picked up a yellow card in the game and gets awarded another one after the fact, it gets treated as a red and he misses the next game. When guys start missing big games because they get yellows after the fact for diving, they'll probably stop diving as much.

Sturridge is also learning how to dive from Suarez.

Agreed in the penalties for diving. If a dive results in a penalty converted or not it should be a 1-2 game suspension.

http://soccer.si.com/2014/03/18/bayern-munich-julian-green-usa-mexico-april-klinsmann/

When asked if there was a possibility that he could choose to play for the U.S. at this year’s World Cup — and be tied to the U.S. for good — Green nodded his head.

“Yes, I think so,” he said. “If I can play a World Cup at 18 years old, it would be great, amazing. But I have to train hard.”

Green said Klinsmann had mentioned the possibility of playing for the U.S. at the World Cup, but the coach has not guaranteed him a spot on the World Cup team if he chooses to wear the Stars & Stripes.

“But the chance is there,” Green said with a smile. “I have to play well, and we will see.”

[expletive] awesome.

Great to hear more news coming out about how much of a piece of crap Jack Warner is and the bribe he took from Qatar.

I am more than pleased that my son, Julian Green, will practice & play with USMNT against Mexico! The 1st step of many...#WARUSMNT #USMNT

First off, Julian Green's dad is awesome.

Second, I will be attending Julian Green's first cap in person and it's against Mexico and I'm [expletive] thrilled.

Feel like Jurgen would be an awesome college basketball coach.

Was thinking that. Great recruiter.

For those who don't really follow the prospects, Julian Green is basically a very similar player to Landon Donovan at age 18. Lightning fast, great passing vision and range, good finisher and can play either wing or as a support striker. He's like Landon if Landon were developed through the crucible of the best club in Europe.

So doesn't the one time switch have to be filed and processed in order for him to play against Mexico :beg: ?

Yeah. They filed ArJo's in like 13 days, so it can be done. Depends on when the paperwork started.
