I'm curious to try on those new nike total laser90 shoes. Someday Fifa is going to start banning illegal shoes like the pga does with clubs.

Soooooo.....

John Harkes:John Terry

And suddenly my respect for Steve Sampson grew a little.

The media storm on June 12th is going to be manic. I wonder, if Harkes is still the main color guy (please no) what comment he'll have that day.

Too bad this whole thing didn't come out in late May.

Good article from Grant Wahl on the whole Terry:Bridge Harkes:Wynalda stuff and the effects on the '98 team.

Grant Wahl is a Deutschbank. Sampson deserves some respect for the decision he made, and quite honestly, the US didn't go 0-3 in France because Harkes wasn't there. Harkes was horrid, horrid bad during the runup to 1998. We lost because Germany and Yugoslavia were better, and we had a god awful game plan against Iran.

Slag Sampson for his lineup against Iran, his panicked tactics that cost us a game we should have won easily, but Harkes' absence had nothing to do with it, and the way he handled the situation was class. He could have leaked it, or used it as an excuse. He kept his mouth shut for 12 years.

Seriously, he has to hear it from Roy Wegerle that this ish is going on and he has to be the one to tell Wynalda what happened, as well as deal with the fallout.

And for the record, John Terry is a gigantic overrated tool.

Donovan had his moments but made some really poor passes.

Howard showed exactly why I'm nervous about him being our #1. His athletic ability is great, but he makes some really poor decisions.

Only in the 36th minute of the Everton-Liverpool match but the referee completely butchered the Fellaini challenge. Fellaini should have gotten the red rather than nothing and the Liverpool guy should have gotten yellow rather than red. Can't believe Fellaini got away with stomping on that guy's leg.

I had no problem with the big Greek being sent off, he went in with both feet studs high. But there is no way that Fellaini should not have been sent off. Also I think that Pinnear should have been sent off a few minutes earlier, he went in studs showing and caught Mascherano up by the knee. It was a very good day for Liverpool fans though got the win vs Everton, Man City lose, and Tottenham draws vs Villa. So they picked up points on all of their competitors for 4th.

That was definitely a rough game. Seeing the replays again, I can see why the Greek guy got sent off but like you said, no reason Fellaini shouldn't have been also. I suspect he'll get a suspension for that after the fact.

Yeah he made some nice runs, took some guys on well, but I'd give him about a 5-6. No one for Everton played better than that. That was a terrible performance.

Jozy was a force today. That goal has been coming because he's deserved one since he's come back. He's really been throwing people around and giving opposing defenders hell the last few games. I could see him going on a really good run of form if Hull continues to play with the kind of pressure they have lately.

Ironically it's better for him that they keep playing good, technical teams. When they get in their relegation battles, Brown really throws on the brakes.

His partnership with J VoH has been solid. They'll give any back line problems with their strength, but Jozy's runs seem to really open up space for VoH and Hunt. Hunt in particular.
