That was a nice run to get on the end of that pass, but I need to see more than a couple 15 second clips.

FWIW the Aris fans on BigSoccer love both of them, and Adu in particular is getting love for his workrate, which I never thought I'd see.

Watching the stream, EJ's off the ball runs are so much better than they were. I still think he's pants, but he may bear watching.

Also, Torres scored a pretty sweet goal today off a free kick.

Well I'd hope he'd put out after three teams in three years totaling about 20 games.

Screw the U-20's. You're 18 and getting first team action at Estudiantes, you get to go to the World Cup. Even if only as an observer.

Benny out two weeks with an ankle means a probable Bradley-Torres pairing in Amsterdam. Blessing in disguise. I'd love to see an extended run out for Torres against a possession team like Holland.

I can never figure out if Benny is actually good or not. JFT, though...I actually do think he's good. Good matchup for him, too. Now watch BB put Edu and Bradley on the field.

I also think that if Adu has any hope whatsoever to be in the 23, he's going to have to get some tick in this match. With Benny, Deuce and Clark out for this one, if Adu can't make this roster he's gonna have to wait to 2014.

Never underestimate the USSF's ability to jack up a youth prospect.

Apparently there's plenty of soccer terminology I'm still not familiar with:

ESPN.com Live Commentary[/url]"]Alonso gets a booking for tugging back Pjanic and he'll miss the return leg. Pjanic then turns in another of his cross-cum-shots and it heads harmessly wide. That's half time.

Almost half for AC Milan/ ManU. Sounds like United is fortunate for the 1-1 score.

Damnit. Sounds like a hell of a match going on. 3-2 and AC Milan nearly equalized. Which I could watch.

What's with with champs league scheduling this year. Half of the round of 16 plays this week, the other half plays next week. I don't remember them doing this before this year? Sounds like something David Stern would do. Guess it's beneficial for actual league play.

Tonight I came to the firm conclusion that Rio Ferdinand is past his sell by date. Also, I came to the conclusion that I hope Wayne Rooney pulls a hammy sometime between June 1st and June 11th.

How does a veteran team like Milan not mark the best striker in the world on two occasions?

I'm guessing it's driven by money. More games on TV means more money for UEFA.

When I was 10, my team was playing in our league soccer championship against a team that had beaten us 5-1 earlier in the year. They had a kid that scored three goals in that game and would be far and away the best scorer on our competitive team the next two years. Since it was clear that stopping him was our only chance to win, my dad had two players on our team follow this kid everywhere he went and we ended up winning 2-1.

I'm thinking this is the only way we have any chance of stopping Rooney in the World Cup.

Yeah because they don't have any midfielders that like to sneak into the space vacated by the extra man marking Rooney and poach goals. Except Lamps. And Gerrard. [expletive].

It's been pretty amazing how fast Rooney has gone from being the most overrated player in the world to living up to his potential in the past two years. He's an animal.
