Wow the ref just stops the game at the 31 minute mark to give both teams a water break. Should benefit Argentina as Nigeria has been applying a lot of pressure. Another great chance for Nigeria.

Gerrard saves Liverpool again, after Carragher knocked one in off a defender in the 84th minute to tie it. Gerrard scores in extra time to win the game. They have played like crap the first 2 games but still have 6 points. Hopefully getting Machscherano back will help them out some.

Nevan Subotic is the best center half in the entire US player pool. It's not even close either. This is the first time I've seen him play and he is blowing me away.

Only 19 and he has more composure and technique than any of our defenders. It's only into the 37th minute against Bayern, but he is handling Toni and Klose like it's nothing. Great, smart tackles, good balls breaking out of the back, good aerial defending and his composure at 19 is like a seasoned international.

If Bob Bradley does not get this man into camp, it will be just as disappointing if not more than Giuseppi Rossi. To me anyway. This is a player who could start for Germany in the future, let alone the US, Serbia or Bosnia. He is a future captain. He should be starting with Gooch in 2010.

Rumor has it he wants to play for Germany.

Apparently Rongen really pissed him off.

Yeah, I think he's going to play for Germany when it's all said and done.

I think he's eligible to play for Serbia as well.

I'm guessing ticket sales aren't going great for the qualifier against T&T. US Soccer now has full ads on the sides of CTA busses.

I just pulled up 2 tickets in section 117, row 22. So no, ticket sales are not going well at all.

Thanks a lot, Chicago, how are we going to keep getting matches when we can't sell out a WCQ?

It's a fing wednesday night, for one, and secondly, the tickets are obscenely overpriced. I blame Sunil.

I still did my part by pulling down 20 tickets.

If that's a problem, you should never aspire to joining the Champions League.

When I lived in Rome, Roma's group stage champs league games were not that well attended either.

Booyah.

Sacha Kljestan's impressive performance in Beijing -- three starts, a well-taken goal against the Netherlands -- seems to have attracted several European suitors. Recently, his agent said they are looking at several offers.

A source told Goal.com on Tuesday that a Dutch Eredivisie side is particularly interested, however, the source would not confirm for Goal.com which team.

Going to Holland would make a lot of sense for Kljestan. The Chivas USA midfielder does not have the requisite caps for the US National Team to get his work permit to play in England, and he is perhaps not ready for one of the other big leagues in Europe. And besides, despite his being an Arsenal fan, his style is more suited to a possession league like the Eredivisie rather than the EPL, something he readily admits.

"I would really enjoy Spain or Italy or Germany," Kljestan told the Los Angeles Times earlier this month. "I think those three are not only top-flight leagues with some great teams but also fit my style of play. I feel like in Spain my technical ability would help a lot. In Germany, there are some really good players and it's a really strong league from top to bottom, so that's cool. Italy is obviously a very strong league as well."

A hard-charging, attack-first type of player, the 22-year-old Kljestan has been with Chivas his entire professional career. In 73 appearances, including 72 starts, he has scored 9 goals and posted 24 assists.

Aside from his Olympic experience, Kljestan has 6 caps for the full US team. He was on the bench for the Americans' recent 1-0 win over Guatemala in World Cup qualifying.

Baptism by fire.

WALTER SMITH has confirmed that he will include Maurice Edu in his squad for Parkhead - assuming the American star arrives in Glasgow in enough time.

Edu was in the process of trying to secure a working visa from the UK Embassy in Toronto after the relevant paperwork on his work permit arrived from the UK.

All things being equal, he should be at Murray Park by Wednesday or Thursday and that will give him enough time to get ready for the Celtic game.

Smith said: "We have to wait and see if we get him over on time.

"The good thing is that he has been playing regularly and travelling around the world regularly with the US national team.

"When I first met him he came across as one of these boys who would not be fazed by a great deal. He seems quite a confident lad.

"If we can get him over in good time then I have no doubt that he would be involved on Sunday at some stage."

The other good news for Rangers is that Kyle Lafferty is winning his fitness battles to face Celtic after suffering a hamstring injury against Hearts.

Smith added: "I think he will be fit. He only just missed out on being involved at Aberdeen so after a few days on the training ground we would be hopeful of having him for this weekend."

Yeah liverpool has played like crap so far this season, and it should get worse over the next 2 weeks cause Gerrard needs surgery on his groin and will be out 10-15 days. They are getting Mascherano and Lucas back so that should help some. But I dont know how they pulled out this or the Sunderland game.

Surgery on my groin would put me out for 3 months.
