The best team won this match. Spain just out-played Germany today and they deserved this championship. Ballack was completely non-existent and had a pretty disappointing match. As were Schweinsteiger and Podolski.

That's for sure. The big 4 for Germany did nothing today and Lahm/Lehmann had a huge f-up that cost them the Championship. Too bad.

It could have easily been 2 or 3-0.

Spain will be good in 2010, very good.

Well the best team won. They were pretty much the best the entire 3 weeks too. And no penalties!!!

I would not mind being in Spain tonight.

i was 1-2 minutes from being in one of those celebrations in florence, italy in 2000... then the frogs ruined it.

Spain was definetly the better team. Good on them. Germany looked bad. Phillip Lahm in particular was abused over the past two games, badly. His winner against Turkey masked an awful, awful performance otherwise, and Torres just flat beat him to the ball on the goal.

However, the officiating for a Cup Final was rubbish. Ballack should have been sent off a couple times, and I'm still not sure what the call was on the foul in Spain's 18 in the 90th or so minute.

Ballack was noticeably a step slower than when 100%. Spain was by far the best side of the whole tournament.

Oh well, now all we have is MLS and transfer rumors. }:>(

Yep. Lampard to Inter is all but done and they are in on Ronaldinho as well. Abramovich is rumored to be giving Scolari 250,000,000 pounds to spend.

Robinho to Chelsea appears to be close too.

Arsenal, whatcha doing outside of rumors to be losing players?

Robinho, Deco + the Ronaldinho rumors? Scolari wants to make West London little Rio. That's fine with me.

Edit - Although for the record, I don't think Robinho will be a good Premiership player. Well not as good anyway.

Rumors from the American Soccer Show Podcast - Brek Shea to Manchester United, Bradley to stay at Heerenveen, Onyewu back to the Premiership, MLS rejected an offer for Kenny Cooper from FC Rosenborg, Freddy Adu hasn't gone to Genoa yet because there are some other clubs in Serie A and La Liga who are interested as well and Maurice Edu may go to either Sunderland or Middlesborough.

... Onyewu back to the Premiership...

Local sources have Fulham and ... FC Köln as possible options for him.

His contract with Standard Liège runs through the next season though, so there will be a fee...

I don't remember ever seeing this posted here, but should be interesting. He needs to add a little meat to the bones, but I guess you can't expect too much at age 12.

I posted this a while back. I wonder if he is related to the FC Dallas head coach? New Castle is very low on my places I want to see American talent developed list.

yep grandson. Yeah would not be my first choice, especially given his current size. Unless they can help bulk him up.

You're Mr. Dutch. Get Ajax on the phone.

I'll just drive over to FC Dallas being 15 miles away and have a little chat with his Grandfather ;-). Reading the article it seemed like Dennis Wise is the main reason NewCastle are very interested. I did find it interesting that Kenny Cooper Sr. is somehow involved in all of this.

I am all about getting these kids over to Holland at a young age only to have them sold off by age 20 to a bigger club. Then again I also had a previous plan of sending over some of the worthless slutty US women to Brazil, have them get knocked up and bring them back to the states prior to the child being born :-).

If Nike were really concerned with the future of US Soccer, they'd head down to the city of God with a wad of cash and find all the little Carlito Tevez's who want to move to Bradenton.

I wholeheartedly endorse any plan to do this. Send Brad and Angelina to Brazil.

12 years old and only 75lbs, I am pretty sure my left leg weighed 75 lbs when I was 12. Seriously protein shakes or take the kid to McDonalds or something.

I have a 12 year old brother. He's like 5'2 and one of the taller kids in his class. He's pretty solid too and I think he only weighs about 92 lbs. I don't think he is all that small. Remember, the kid runs all day long.

This has nothing to do with anything, but if there are any BigSoccer readers here...is the poster there named "Voros" that does all sorts of ridonkulous statistical runs Voros McCracken, the baseball statistician?

I read it pretty infrequently, but I do know that Voros McCracken is a big soccer fan who has done a lot of work with stats in soccer. I can't say if it's actually him, though.
