I've seen from a few sources now that Monaco have their future pinned on Freddy Adu. They really, really want him. I'd love it because he'd be guaranteed to get first team action. That's all I care about right now. I am skeptical as to how reliable this is but apparently they are after Bradley too. Some other interesting stuff in there regarding Onyewu and Mastroeni. Also, Nihat Kahveci has been ruled out up to four months, so Altidore is moving up the depth chart at Villareal. If their other striker goes to Feyenoord as rumored, it could be an all-New Jersey strike force to start the season.

Blanco Punches and (allegedly) Kicks, Eye-Gouges, Headbutts Like A Girl

You all have been asking for more specifics on what exactly happened in last night's game with Blanco. Here's what I can tell you.

In addition to his on-field conduct, which according to D.C. United defender Marc Burch included both punching and eye-gouging D.C. midfielder Clyde Simms, Blanco also allegedly head-butted a D.C. United operations employee as he was being escorted off the field, according to sources.

I believe Blanco and Conde got into a fist fight in the Fire locker room a few days ago, as well.

Guzan to Villa for 1.5 mil. As of now, he is their first team keeper.

Good. he's been lame-ducking it since the last transfer fell through.

It also means we can stop having to throw him in ever MNT game we possibly can. I like him, but he has a long way to go before he pushes for Howard's job. Hopefully the Premier League will hone his game a lot and specifically teach when it's appropriate to come off his line.

Howard still has trouble with that, and that's why he's not at Man U anymore.

I'm loving this Superliga stuff. All the games have been really, really fun to watch and really good.

2-1 Chivas DG over DC United last night. Jaime Moreno was denied on a pk in the 80 something.

4-0 Houston over Atlante as well last night.

Tonight is New England vs Santos (on right now) and Chivas USA vs Pachuca.

All games are on Telefutura.

Benfica just signed Juan Pablo Aimar, so if we didn't already know, Freddy is on his way out.

Oguchi Onyewu officially obtained the Belgian nationality last friday and is currently training again with Standard Liège.

Obviously, as he's played for the U.S., he cannot be selected for any national squad here; I'm not sure what it means for his status as a U.S. international though.

It doesn't mean anything for his international career. It just means that he won't take up a foreign player slot on Liege's roster so they can use it to bring someone else in.

There's no such thing as a "foreign player slot" in the Belgian league (a team can field 11 foreigners if they like; a couple of seasons ago, some team actually did).

I should think it could facilitate a move to a bigger European club - as a national of an EU country, he has "freedom of movement" within the EU and he cannot be refused a work permit to play in say Italy or the UK. 8-)

If so, smart move on his part.

Very nice. I didn't think about that.

Ronaldinho to Milan. Seria A is going to be really, really tough at the top next year.

A front of Ronaldinho, kaka and Pato next year? yeah, I'd take that.

I saw Mancini to Inter is a done deal. That sucks for Roma. Any idea who they are going to bring in?

The latest rumor is Julio Baptista.

I was hoping that Inter would part-swap Suazo for mancini, but I guess they're hanging onto him so he can ride the bench all year.

Oly roster:

Goalkeepers- Brad Guzan, Chris Seitz

Defenders- Michael Parkhurst, Maurice Edu, Michael Orozco, Marvell Wynne, Nathan Sturgis, Patrick Ianni

Midfielders- Freddy Adu, Michael Bradley, Sacha Kljestan, Stuart Holden, Danny Szetela, Benny Feilhaber.

Forwards- Brian McBride, Jozy Altidore, Charlie Davies, Robbie Rogers

That's a real good lineup, imo.

Attacking:

-------------------Guzan----------------------

----Wynne---Edu---Parkhurst---Orozco----

---Kljestan-------Bradley---------Szetela---

--------Adu------McBride---Altidore---------

-Is Feilhaber even healthy?

-We only took one overage player?

-I like that roster more than a lot of Bob Bradley rosters over the past year.

Guzan, Parkhurst and McBride are the overages. Guzan and Parkhurst are both 24 iirc.

I knew that. I'm getting dumber.
