I'm really interested in watching Izturis the rest of the year. I think he can turn in to an adequate hitter. I know the Vizquel comparison has been made a couple times, that might be wishful thinking.

From what I've seen though he looks to handle the bat pretty well.

Horrible baserunning there by the Cubs, it looks like we need another baserunning clinic by Speier.

maybe he does those drunk, that would explain the baserunning

I think Gameday may be broke for a week after that baserunning play..how are they going to explain the third baseman making both outs?

Izturis seems to have a pretty nice opposite field hitting-remember, he got robbed twice by Tracy on the same sort of line drive in the Diamondbacks series.

He hits a lot of line drives. Hopefully his BABIP will follow as he enters his prime years.

Where can I leave a tip for the aliens who kidnapped Rich Hill? I think he finally turned the corner. The Cubs have a ton of young pitching to trade again.

He was a nice player here but no more than a 300 hitter with a very poor OBP. That new guy (assistant GM) the Cubs got from the Jays isn't going to help the OBP problem. He just likes better hitters than Hendry.

Nice job Rich....I can't wait for Baker to take credit for it.

Where did this Rich come from?

It's the same Rich Hill I saw pitch a one-hitter thru 7 innings with Iowa earlier this year. He really could be that good. Bad as he was earlier this season, it was inexcusable not to find a way to get him big league innings. Coming out of the bullpen worked out just fine for Santana, Liriano, and Zambrano.
