It's too bad Pagan got hurt earlier this year. What will Hendry do with both Pagan and Murton this offseason?

I wouldn't mind a Pagan/Jones platoon in center, or a Murton/Jones platoon at a corner. Heck, as long as the OF doesn't involve Juan Pierre, we're going in the right direction.

First: Seeing as Pagan is a switch-hitter why couldn't he be a platoon partner for BOTH Murton and Jones?

Pagan doesn't have enough at-bats to know whether his splits are representative or not, but he's pretty awful against lefties, so I ought to retract my suggestion that he platoon with Jones - at least, the team shouldn't go into the next season expecting Pagan to hit lefties.

Second: I hate to break it to you, but Pierre should be back in 2007. And overpaid at that. You know Hendry will try to justify that trade by keeping Pierre for atleast another 2 years.

Should be back or will be back? Someone should sit down with Hendry and go over the psychological unsoundness of continuing to invest in past bad decisions in an attempt to justify them or turn them around.

You know, it might be okay if Wuertz pitched later than the 7th inning...

Pitchers need to have clearly defined roles or they don't know what to do and they ball up in the fetal position.

Edit: One more reason to hate Tony Larussa.

Arghh.

This Paulino kid is impressive.

Impressive for a #8 hitter.

Well, impressive for a catcher too.

The NL Central has some pretty good hitting catchers this year; Ross has been good in Cincy, Barrett for us, Paulino for Pittsburgh.

Don't forget Yadier Molina! Oh never mind, he can't hit his weight.

Hey............don't you be knocking that "All Star", or McCarver will come for ya....Ya know?

That's not saying much though...

A demotion is in the line for Rich...2 good starts in a row. What is Dusty thinking by trotting him out there every 5th day?

Plus, he took 4 straight balls for a walk as a batter.

I missed the whole game and I'm checking out the Box Scores. Looks like Hill was impressive to say the least, and Pagan just keeps on hitting. I don't mind the Murton\Pagan splitting time right now. Both have been very impressive lately.
