Where did this Rich come from?

It's the same Rich Hill I saw pitch a one-hitter thru 7 innings with Iowa earlier this year. He really could be that good. Bad as he was earlier this season, it was inexcusable not to find a way to get him big league innings. Coming out of the bullpen worked out just fine for Santana, Liriano, and Zambrano.

Insert inevitable reference about Rich Hill not being able to handle the heat like those other guys.

8K's through 5IP for Hill now!

6 IP.

Only 4 hits given up too.

Oops, thanks for catching that. I think another 8IP performance for Hill would be pretty good today.

Way to cut from hot girls in the crowd to fat guys eating pizza. Boo FSN Pittsburgh.

The WGN camera guys could teach them a thing or two about sticking with the babes

Please don't mention "that fan's" name here, Len and Bob.

Thanks.

(They didn't, and you know ESPN would've been all over that)

It's too bad Pagan got hurt earlier this year. What will Hendry do with both Pagan and Murton this offseason?

I wouldn't mind a Pagan/Jones platoon in center, or a Murton/Jones platoon at a corner. Heck, as long as the OF doesn't involve Juan Pierre, we're going in the right direction.

Jeff Garlin is a guest with Santo and Hughes. Santo professing his love for the movie, "Daddy Day Care".

I'd be professing my love for Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Wow, beautiful hook

It is beautiful. I remember Hill's first big league action - versus the Marlins - and I remember being amazed at how much his curve was breaking. It was almost comical.

I'm convinced that a small part of Hill's troubles have been caused by umpires not expecting his curve to break like it does. It often starts high and ends in the zone, but umpires, like hitters, sometimes determine whether a pitch is a ball or a strike before it gets to the plate.
