I asked around work who they would have voted for and most said CCR. I like Radiohead and voted for them I just dont think they have mass appeal. I think the Clash is one of the 5 or 6 greatest bands ever and they got knocked out. They also dont really have mass appeal. Most of this is just personnel taste. I am shocked to find out how many people dont like some bands that are in this tourney. It is their taste though.

Some of the blame is clearly on me as I had zero idea that CCR was so damn popular. I seriously didn't. I certainly know their songs, but they were never anything more than a 2nd or 3rd tier classic rock band to me. Perhaps living my entire live north of the Mason-Dixon line has skewed my views of music :wink:

 

I don't think I underrated Radiohead. They are one of my Top 5 favorite bands ever, but considering the competition, would have a tough time cracking a #2 seed.

It seems to me that noone dislikes CCR. Almost everyone I talk to said that they liked them. Maybe not loved them or owned a lot of their stuff but liked them anyway

Radiohead being ranked "too high" should have helped them, as they would supposedly have gone against a lesser opponent. I still don't think CCR is better than any of the bands ranked ahead of them.

More people know CCR's stuff so they beat Radiohead. In this case, it was probably more a function of the # of people who know the material versus whether or not they felt the songs were better.

i'll give you Mothers of Invention. Why I thought they should be in there at all now escapes me. KISS has an enormous legion of fans (not here apparently) and the others are borderline. I still think CCR is, at best, terribly average

I'm not a big CCR fan and I own the same number of Radiohead CD's as CCR CD's (one). I'd vote for CCR all day over Radiohead, who I just cannot get into.

Radiohead is awesome, and they got gypped a bit by drawing CCR when they did, but I still think the more deserving band won.
