Gotta play Neifi in preparation of next year dudes. Jimbo's orders

 

The scary thing is, I was looking at this lineup and realize that this is what we are reduced to. This lineup is actually our best chance to win tonight, and that's scary. I don't want Neifi playing a bunch over the last two months (because we don't need to win this season-I want to see Theriot and Cedeno in the middle infield) but Cedeno does need to sit down for a couple days and clear his head. Let's just hope that it's only a couple of days and then he can get back in the lineup consistently.

I don't know about anyone else but I am fired up for the game tonight.

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but I'm excited about this series. I don't care how crappy the Cubs are, a Cubs Cards series always gets the adrenaline going for me.

FWIW, Hendry officially total Baker and then the media today that Dusty Baker will be the manager of the Cubs for the remainder of the season. So he has officially closed the door on any time of managerial change this season.

No it's not sarcasm at all. I am fired up. I am really rooting hard for Rich Hill. I really don't care about the score all that much as long as Hill has control, I'l be happy.

 

The rest of the series, not so much.

 

I'd love nothing more than a rotation of:

 

Hill

Marmoll

Marshall

Z

Guzman

 

for the rest of the season.

I was going to watch this game on HD. I just got a new set this week. I wasnt getting the ESPNHD channel. So i called tech support, the tech lady literally broke the cable box and i dont get any signal at all. now i gotta watch it in the basement. Jerklady.

woohoo, it's the first game of the rest of the year! Dusty is not being fired this year, that means we have a stable clubhouse again! We're going to win the next 30 games and be in the playoff hunt!

 

"Stable" is code for continue to play sub .500 baseball this year and for years to come if Hendry and Dusty are allowed to stay in charge.

Prediction: Hill gives up 6 runs and departs in the 3rd inning. Novoa comes in and gives up a grand slam that same inning.

Easy first for Hill. Looks like he's got good command and velocity tonight; lets hope he brought his curve with him as well.
