What is it with the cubs, seriously.

Farnsworth injures himself kicking something

Sosa throws out his back sneezing

Prior takes a line drive off the elbow

Z takes a fungo bat to the elbow.

Wood is the only one man enough to have a real injury.

You forgot to mention Furcal ramming into Lee and breaking his wrist.

A few year back, but Mueller and the injury in St. Louis could be included.

Oh how could i forget.

How about nomar blowing his groin muscle while leaving the batters box. Or sammy's Ingrown toenail.

No, Wood hurt his shoulder on purpose so he could bilk the Cubs out of money. Wood never wanted to pitch. You should know that by now.

Did Ozzie Guillen order a hit on Carlos in retaliation for the AJ Pierzynski incident?

foil hat mode>

Nah, that would be absurd. Ozzie has too much class.

Using Cora as the hitman......genius!!!

There needs to be some serious punishment handed out to the White Sox if Z is out for an extended period of time and Cora is responsible. And feel free to bombard ozzie at ozzieguillen13@hotmail.com

It was in the Tribune last year

I say we let Gene Clines get a free swing at Jose Contreras.

Clines would just sacrifice his power for the sake of making contact. It wouldn't hurt much.

Why? it was an accident. I seriously doubt he had him hit Z with a fungo bat.

Furthermore, its pretty immature you are telling people to bombard his email

I find it hard to believe this would be Cora's fault. I think if he had done it on purpose it would have been a big story by now. As for the e-mail...I hope you joking.

i don't remember any bandages or anything on his elbow during the introductions. i assume the xrays came out fine?

Yeah in my heart of hearts, I know it was probably just precautionary to not play him, but this isn't the Orioles or Padres we are talking about, its the freakin Cubs so his career has officially been PRIORatized

Good point. Unfortunately this is the Cubs. He'll be fine until his next outing. Then his arm from the elbow down, will fall off.

And he'll STILL pitch 220 innings this season with that arm!

With a 3.30 ERA!

XRays negative according to the Trib, but how many times have we heard that

Carlos Zambrano: Sox and AL coach Joey Cora accidentally hit Zambrano in his throwing elbow with a fungo bat before the game. X-rays were negative, but Zambrano was ruled out of the game.

So you're saying Zambrano will wake up tomorrow with Dum-Dum Fever?

Well when Zambrano broke the bat across his leg, it didn't even leave a mark. Lets hope that he'll come out as lucky this time. Fungo bats have little weight or mass to them so I'm hoping it did little damage.

How about Bellhorn sending Sammy's career into the toilet?

That was a good attempt, but I think it took the only shattered batting helmet I can recall in recent history to really start the downward spiral.

Yah, Sammy was never the same after Saloman Tores (SP???) gave him that shot to the head....

I hate that man...

Yep, Sammy was actually hitting in the .330's in 2003, I think, When Tores decided that Sammy's helmet would look better in 30 pieces.
