Carolina unanimously picked to win the South? It's almost worth bookmarking.

Considering our performance of late against your Bucs, they need all the motivation they can get!

In all seriousness, unless Chris Simms improves a LOT from last year, there's probably not a team in that division that can really stop Carolina from winning it.

Aside from Atlanta, Nawlins, and Tampa.

My teams to watch this season, who I think have a real shot at a surprise SuperBowl appearance....

NY Giants- I wouldn't be surprised to see them as the #1 defense this year. Old at skill positions, but Eli should hit superstardom this season.

Dallas- Maybe the most pure defensive talent in the league. Won't be the best, but will force TOs....oh yeah, and TO's on the offensive side. Terry Glenn has a huge year as a #2.

New England- Obvious playoff team, but nobody is picking them to win the AFC. I've seen people pick Miami over them in the East. Not gonna happen, Brady is the league's best QB (yeah, I said it, Peyton), running game rejuvenated with Maroney pushing Dillon to be good. Defense is a year healthier and still talented.

San Diego- #1 against the run is a big deal. Only gonna get better against the pass. Rivers is not gonna be a dropoff from Brees, and the team who lost 7 games by less than 7, with the league's toughest schedule last year will make some noise in 06.

do you think San Diego is going to take the take the division away from the broncos with a "rookie" QB? I honestly dont see it happening no matter how good Rivers supposedly is, he will have to pull a roethlisberger type season to win his team the division. One injury to LT could have this team spiraling into the abyss.

Detroit releases WR Charles Rogers and Rotoworld thinks the Bears might be interested.....

Lions released WR Charles Rogers.

Three seasons, 36 catches, two broken collarbones, and an infinite amount of reports about lazy practice habits. Wide receiver-hungry teams like the 49ers or the Bears are likely to snatch the former No. 2 overall pick up quickly.

I don't see at all where Raw said they'd win the division. I love the Broncos this season, but its not a stretch to say that the Chargers can A make the playoffs, and B make a Superbowl run with a great RB, a QB who WILL have a year under his belt (Rivers reminds me a lot of Chad Pennington a few years ago) along with a front 7 that is pretty darn good. Their secondary is still pretty crappy.

Just say no.

I still don't understand why the NFL doesn't let the team with the best division record go to the playoffs and then the teams with the best records compete for the wildcard. IMO the schedules have way too much of an impact since they are different for each team.

I'm all for the Bears signing Rogers, what He can do when healthy and focused could really help the team...and I think Lovie could keep him in line.

Interesting note on Parcells...

Link

It is the fourth year of the Tuna in Big D. His coaching record reflects Super Bowl appearances in Year Four with the Giants and Patriots. Parcells only coached three seasons with the Jets.

I, for one, am hoping that the fourth year magic holds true in Dallas this time as well.
