Can thomas go out and effectively defend a "small"

As he bulks up, maybe not. Next year, easily. He's much more athletic then either Noch or Deng. Longer too.

I'm ready for the Bulls to start playing again already.

Me too. Same with Notre Dame. And the Panthers. I just want another sport to start - any sport.

Got this from basketballboards.net Bulls forum:

ESPN1000 is reporting that their NBA sources are telling them that at 12:01 tonight, Pax is gonna offer Ben Wallace the WORLD to sign with the Bulls.

I can live with this only if we trade Tyson. There is no reason to have two of the exact same player on this team.

Exact same? Are you joking? People aren't afraid to drive on Tyson. They think twice about driving on Ben. I'll take Wallace over Tyson for his reputation alone.

That would be around, 5 years, $80M. The first two years would be fun and the last two could be hell.

Wallace is the worst FT shooter in the NBA. Hack-A-Ben cost the Pistons dearly in the playoffs.

Not doubt, but losing Wallace would hurt the Pistons significantly.

Ben is much better at doing what he does than Tyson, but they are the same player: defensive specialists who don't score at all, can't shoot FTs, can block shots, etc. Just because Ben is twenty times better at it than Tyson doesn't mean they aren't the same type of player.

Cavs offer LeBron 5 year $80 million extension.

Link

Shortly after the NBA's free agency season began Saturday, the Cavaliers contacted James to offer him a five-year maximum contract extension worth about $80 million, a deal that could keep him in Cleveland through the 2012-13 season.

Tyrus might not stick with 32

Bulls.com: Now that you’ve got that Bulls jersey across your chest, how does it feel?

Thomas: “First off, depending on what happens with Othella Harrington and the Bulls, I’d like to change my number to 24. My number in college was 12, and my friend, Ryan Francis who played at USC [and was fatally shot], also wore number 12. I’m going to put our numbers together to make 24 if Othella doesn’t return. Otherwise, I’ll stick with 32. I knew Ryan since we were about eight or nine years old. He wasn’t a high school teammate; actually we were rivals in high school, but we played in summer leagues together all the time. We’d go head-to-head and go at it, then after the game we’d hang out. But it feels good to have the Bulls jersey on. I’m ready to play.”

Dallas signs Terry to a 6-year deal:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2506660

Great job Cuban. Dirk and Howard should be extended soon.

Daniels is basically gone at this point. I hear trading him to Toronto for Mike James, which, makes no sense to me.

Hopefully Dallas can make a run at Harrington.

Oh, and Dallas has Pittsnogle for on their Summer League team in a few weeks, he's playing for Miami's Summer League team in a few days.

I would love Ben Wallace to become a Bull, but I just hope that doesn't hinder future extensions to Nocioni, Deng, and Hinrich.

I would also hope the Bulls can deal Tyson if they sign Wallace. Is there any truth to rumors that the Bulls could acquire Boozer or Marion for Tyson?

NBA can't come soon enough, NFL either.

The NFL is 1000000000x more entertaining than the NBA, its not even funny.

I can't wait for Bears camp.

Here's an excerpt about Tyrus Thomas's fantasy value from NBA.com. I don't get into the fantasy basketball thing, but its the last line that made me smile.

6. Tyrus Thomas, Chicago Bulls

He's got the length, the hops, the wildly alliterative first name...isn't this all seeming a little Stromile-Swift-esque? That's a little unfair, but Chicago is loaded at forward and it'll probably take a (somewhat probable) injury to Tyson Chandler (or trade) for Thomas to have immediate impact. I'm also considering the fact that he'll be playing for Scott Skiles, the Fantasy Vortex of Neverending Doom, the Bulls’ interest in Ben Wallace, and the fact that under Thomas' "Must Improve" column, ESPN listed "learn how to play basketball."

I think he’s gonna be real good – next year. If Chandler gets traded and the Bulls don’t sign Wallace, he’ll be worth a late-round pick.

But from a real world perspective, it’s just not fair how loaded the Bulls are.

If the Nuggets fail to move Martin, the Bulls could make a run at Nene, a restricted free agent.

This, I would be in favor of. He'll probably get similar money to Pryz and Nazr because of injury concerns, but the upside is pretty darn high given that he'll only be 24 by the start of next season. He'd be a great CENTER (legit size too) to add to the winged nucleus.

Nuggets, Nene agree to six-year, $60 million deal

Dangit.

For that money, Denver can have him.

The Bulls won't sign Przybilla for less. The market for centers is silly, but that's where it's been set.
