The only people hitting in May on the entire Cubs team is Jones, Barrett, and to some extent, Ramirez. The rest have not hit. I'm not sure why you choose to point out Cedeno and Ramirez.

And Zambrano counts as a kid, right? He's 3-0 in May with a 1.50 ERA. and a 1.65 b.a. against.

how does zambrano count as a kid?

I brought up the 5 kids cause I'm ticked that Cubs system continues to suck.

He's 24. Def a kid.

Your wrote that "the kids have taken the cubs down the toilet in may." Why didn't you start a post saying "maddux, pierre, and walker have taken the cubs down the toilet in may"? Surely, we should be relying on these three much more than Cedeno, Murton, and Marshall to pick up the slack of DLee, Wood, and Prior being gone. It shows your bias against the younger players to single out the play of Murton and Cedeno and blame the team's losing on them.

gmab. Z's been in the league for several seasons.

The Cubs are 0-7 in the games Guzman & Hill pitches and Murton & Cedeno have been brutal. They've killed the team.. Bottom line. Sorry.

Why haven't you been banned yet?

apparently, pierre & jones can be beaten like a deadhorse, but bringing up the kids' failure means banning?

interesting thought process.

It's the 4000+ other posts in addition to the start of this thread.

Apparently you are not one of the "cool" kids cubfaninCA. people get maimed and flamed for offering opinions on this board that are contrary to the public sentiment here.

Just keep on, keeping on. Discussion and debate is the foundation of this country. I like reading the off the wall stuff cause it makes me think even harder. I am not pretentious enough to think i have all the answers...YET! hehehe'

I don't think there's any reason to deny that Murton and Cedeno have been horrible this month. I think they should be singled out in the same manner that the others have been singled out-there's nothing wrong with that.

To claim that they are "leading the Cubs down the toilet" is just plain, 100% wrong. But to absolve them of responsibility or lump it in with "they're all doing bad" is no more than reverse-Dustyism: making excuses for favored players.

They deserve as much individual blame as do the rest of the players.

I think the veterans have a greater responsibility to do better. They don't have the excuse of learning the new level, and their salaries require higher levels of production.

Pointing out that Cedeno and Murton have been bad is perfectly fine.

Saying they have brought the team into the toilet is ignorant and obvious trolling. It's not excuse making to say others have been just as bad. It's ridiculous to say the kids led them into the toilet when others have been just as bad or worse.

o rly? Whats the record of the Cubs when Murton is in the 2 hole?

I don't think the constant shuffling of the lineup helps the "kids"

i've said it before. the only cub i do not hate right now is michael barrett.

what?

Z? Eyre? Dempster? Howry? what have they done to deserve you ignominy?

LOL @ the name calling.

Actually, if you really want to get specific, the vets (Jones, ARam, Z & Barrett) have saved this team from going 0-21.

guilt by association. barrett made me temporarily happy when he punched aj pierzynski.

i hate the cubs right now. so naturally i have a strong dislike to anyone in that uniform.

No, you just have to stop being a troll by purposefully starting argument with ignorant statements like the kids are bringing the team into the toilet when other non-kids have been just as bad.

That was just an incredibly stupid thing for you to write and you deserve to have people rip it. You were obviously just looking for a fight, which is what you do 75% of the time you post.

The kids have been bad, so have the veterans. The kids didn't bring this team into the toilet on their own. Pierre didn't bring this team into the toilet on his own.

.

I can see that. But at the same time, I don't hold Jacque Jones for not doing what he has not been doing his whole career-hitting lefties. I also don't hold Perez, Blanco, et. al. responsible for being bad players-everybody but Hendry, apparently, knew they were bad when they were signed. They are just doing what they always do.

I can't fault bad players for taking money from someone dumb enough to give it to them. I'll save my blame for the people responsible for evaluating and implementing talent.

And the Cubs are 0-4 in games started by Maddux and Wood. But I can see the logic of calling out Guzman and Hill.....

I don't fault them for taking the money either, but I can hold it against them for not living up to their contracts, no matter if they were deserve in the first place.

So now it's vet vs. inexperienced? You were using the term "kid." Maybe you need to define that. I still say that Z's a kid. He's younger than most rookies!

I can understand that position, and I certainly sympathize with it, esp. when someone chooses to bunt with 2 outs in the ninth inning. Then again, I think, given the salary structure that comes with a union-based contract and inept ownership throughout the league, the majority of players in major league baseball are not living up to their contracts-they're simply getting back pay for what they did three years ago.

That was the most useless 3 pages of posts I've read since the last Jack Bauer thread

I'm taking that as a challenge.

Murton and Pierre have both hit home runs in each of their last 23 at bats. It's true.

I didn't say false. I just said useless. The poor horse has been beaten so much that he's just a pile of mush

Well the false information is even more useless. So there!

marshall's been good in may?

1-2, 6.15 era, 1.56 whip.

he's been bombed twice, but he did have an outstanding outing, so I'm not going to criticize him.

Hahahahahaha, this is almost sigworthy.

There goes any logical discussion.
