Yost is just as much of an idiot as Baker.

How? Why?

His in game moves smack of managering - that is making moves just to make moves instead of for sound baseball reasons. I personally think Yost is not a great manager at all.

Baker hoped that a return to his former stomping grounds would rejuvenate Pierre.

"He loves this surface because [the grass] is a lot shorter than ours,'' Baker said. "Plus, it's hot and he's used to playing in heat and still lives here. All those add to Juan feeling very comfortable here.''

how can you say these things w/ a straight face?

He's on pace for 162 games and 8 RBIs. I think that would be a record.

By quite a large margin if he keeps it up. The lowest RBI total for any player who has played at least 160 games in a season is 31, held by Jimmy Barrett in 1904 and Willie Davis in 1968. (Another former Cub, Don Kessinger, is third on the list with 32 RBI ove 160 games in 1968.)

Alright if we trade Pierre who will be the leadoff hitter next year? Then during the off-season everyone can complain at Hendry for not getting a leadoff hitter. Not sure if Pie is going to be a guy who leads off for you. The only way i would not want to resign Pierre is if the Cubs could sign Torri Hunter.

What do you need a leadoff hitter for? We got one and where are we?

I am so sick of this line of thought. If the Cubs had Jim Edmonds in Center, how many more runs would the Cubs score? Get the best player you can get at each position and then make the lineup. Trading for Pierre has the whole thing backward. Murton and Walker are probably the best choices to lead off from the curent roster. Please don't give Pierre an extension, and Pie bats 7th where Patterson should have always been.

At least he didn't say Juan was "more suited to day games" this time

FTR, this isn't a Koronka type situation with Nolasco. He was a good(if under the radar) prospect that dominated AA last year at age 22. He has good stuff and good control, although neither are plus-plus.

What a nightmare of a trade.

Funny how some of us called it.

You know, if Pierre leaves as a free agent, the White Sox will jump all over him and he'll win the comeback player of the year award for them as their 2007 center fielder. Ozzie and JP probably worked well together in Florida.

RBI

Nolasco 2

Pierre 2

Not that he hasn't been horrendous, but you have to take into account Pierre has Blanco, Perez, Jones (when he was succking) and the pitcher hitting in front of him. Seriously, how many RBI chances has he had??

Funny you should ask.......
