waht did mabry do? gamecast just says ground out to catcher.

That was all as far as I know...he's just not gotten any kind of clutch hits at all this season.

Didn't he hit a PH home run in a big game? I don't really remember...

His one homer came on April 5...not sure how big it could have been.

You're right, we lost that game 8-6.

Kerry done for the day with 71 pitches and 5 innings pitch. Not a bad 1st day back for Kid K.

Anybody who goes crazy when Wood nibbles should take note of this outing.

5 IP, 71 pitches, 14.2 per inning, 6 k, 0 BB, 5 H. He got beat on 3 HR, which guys give up when they are always in the zone but aren't perfect every time.

Wood's done for the day ?

Geeezzzzzzzzzzzz.........I was hoping they would keep his bat in the line-up

Definitely could have been better than what Theriot just did. He looked awful at the plate.

K #6 for Woodrow.

Wood has settled down nicely.

Only problem is that Woody ALWAYS has the tough inning or two when he gets lit up and looks solid the rest of the game

I'm fine with Wood's outing today (though I wish it had gone another inning or so). He looked very good aside from the homers of course.

But if the offense doesn't improve, Wood won't matter.

If it wasn't for all that top notch PR telling us about Pierre's work ethic and for his quotes where he just admits he sucks, Pierre would be getting shredded right now.

He's provided the blueprint for every crappy player that doesn't want to be criticized too much.

I think he looked good. I know it's hard to look good when you give up 3 HR's, but not a bad outing. He does look a bit different. His delivery is smooth and he doesn't look like he's trying to pitch 100 MPH on every pitch. It'll be interesting to watch him the rest of the year.

At least he's playing himself out of being Cub long term...(I hope)

Personally, I'm pretty happy with his outing.

His delivery looked relaxed. He didn't appear to be over-throwing.

Did he groove a couple ? Yeah he did.

No BB's is a good sign to me.

Why do you care? Let him have his opinion, if you don't like it, ignore it.

If somebody has the opinion that Wood is a near lock (I would be shocked if....) to leave this game with discomfort, than other people have every right to reply.

Some people are optimists some are pessimists calling them bitter is not going to change that. That is the point I was making.
