I also forgot Tee Ball, he'd probably K on three swings.

You could have a 12 year old girl throw beach balls at him and he'd miss if the girl were left-handed.

Angel Guzman = Juan Cruz Redux

That's a post based in objectivity if I've ever seen one. 2 games and you've already charted his career? Can you tell me what the winning lottery tickets are too?

/begin rant (not in the best mood, so sorry if i get anyone mad)

i come home to see THIS? This is awful. Milwaukee is somewhat understandable (ok not really) but freaking PITTSBURGH?!?! Are you KIDDING ME? How can we be down 8-0 to this group of bums? Zach Duke who came into this game with a 4.50 ERA shuts us completely down for the 2nd game already this season. Even if Guzman was on today, we probably would still lose this game because of our horrid/anemic/bad offense. And now we are going to go out west where we have sucked for ages (besides the 05 season). I have no confidence in this team whatsoever right now. The last 3 losses have been blowout losses. Unacceptable.

Jacque Jones quite simply the worst all around RF in all of Baseball - Little League, HS, College, Asia, Latin America, MLB, Minor Leagues - did I miss any?

SLOW pitch Softball. I know, it's not baseball, but right now...I'd take a slow pitch RF over Slop and Jock Jones.

Angel Guzman = Juan Cruz Redux

What does that mean?

Means that he came advertised as the next great thing but can't get it together at the major league level. I know Guzman's sample size is small to this point, but I see similarities nonetheless. Great arm strength but too much nibbling, too many walks, little confidence.

That's about the most ridiciulously premature giving up on a prospect I've ever seen. Pitchers don't show up with all their guns blazing. It's very rare for guys to have much success in their first few games, and it's not rare at all for them to give up lots of walks, hits and runs.

The Cubs are losing to the FRIGGIN' Pirates, by 8 runs?

A FRIGGIN' change is needed.

LF Murton

2B Hairston

C Barrett

1B Walker

3B Ramirez

RF Same kid who is seating along the RF line

SS Cedeno

CF Pierre

This team needs a friggin' change, cause whateve Baker is doing, is clearly not working.

I'm frustrated, too, and I think as little of Dusty as anyone else.

But changing the batting order won't help much. No matter how they're ordered, they're still the same players.

Hendry (and to some extent, ownership) are to blame for what we're seeing now.

Agreed. The hyperbole around here lately all around is ridiculous.

Has to the be the worst 7th inning stretch I've heard, just as far as being off-key.

On Doug Bruno singing the 7th inning stretch, to borrow a line from Patton Oswalt, "he had a voice like Tom Waits gargling hot asphalt."
