Dusty take this pathetic pitcher out of the rotation, and call up Hill please. We have almost no chance of winning with this guy on the mound.

Why don't we give Ohman's position in the pen to Rusch and actually let Ohman pitch more than once every week and a half.

Because he might have pitched worse then Rusch this year.

Wait what am I talking about.

But seriously, Ohman has looked pretty pathetic this year too.

I say DFA Rusch, take the hit, send down Aardsma, and bring up Williams and Hill.

Hill is 26 years old,he was an "untouchable" for trades, but we won't call him up?We'll keep putting Rusch out there because of how he pitched in 04. Rusch also is the league leader in gopher balls.Very Cub like.

That's a good plan also. Would you keep Ohman in the pen then?

You gotta unless you want to make Hill or Eyre the LOOGY.

Dempster - CL

Eyre - SU1

Howry - SU2

Ohman - LOOGY

Williamson - MRP

Novoa - MRP/LRP

Williams - LRP

Maddux/Zambrano/Marshall/Hill/Guzman - Starters

The future is now.

Having watched Hill pitch in AAA, it's obvious that the Cubs want to give him time to be a more rounded pitcher. Rusch might force Hendry's hand to recall Hill now.

I listened to part of Dusty's postgame comments and he said he will speak with Jim (Hendry) and Larry about what they plan to do. In other words, he's certainly willing to consider moving Rusch out of the rotation but ultimately, it's Hendry's decision to recall Hill or anyone else.

Good news

Rusch looks like a BP pitcher.

Rich Hill's next start should be with the Cubs. Send Aardsma down and move Rusch to mopup duty.

Yep, I'm all for that.

But I think Ohman's limited PT has played into his struggles too.

Very much so. Think of how good he was under pressure last year and now the only action he sees is relatively stress free, some players can't handle that.

Holy pitchcounts!

Because of Rusch's suckiness and/or Dusty and Hendry's failure to recognize that, the following pitchers threw the following number of pitches today:

Aardsma - 60

Ohman - 39

Novoa - 56

All because of our management's inability to spot a crappy pitcher.

Agreed, my plan too. Ohman to Iowa, Rusch to bullpen, Aardsma to Iowa, Wuertz recall, Hill recall to the rotation. Works for me.

Anything that takes Rusch out of the rotation, including bringing back Rick Reuschel.

Rusch = Estes 03 :(

i thought you were always a rusch supporter?

i call it like i see it, and i have a feeling rusch will be garbage this year. in hindsight this was a poor signing by jim, but he made some good ones in howry and eyre.

Some have bitched about Pierre. Others have bitched about Jones, but this team's weakest link has been Rusch.

It's almost like the team has no chance at winning on days he pitches.

With the injuries, we really don't have the luxory of letting a guy work his way out of the funk.

In this case, managment needs to ID the problem and adjust immediately.
