The worst part is now Jones leads off next inning. The Cubs need to do what they can to turn over the lineup, which means not making outs on the bases.

I predict that Neifi gets a hit next inning so the line-up will flip anyway.

Maddux won't bat again anyways I'm guessing.

That was a darn fast inning...he may bat.

EDIT: misread yahoo...thought Miller was out already.

Jinx! He's going to be at least mid 80's after this inning and that's his magic number.

I'm guessing that's all for Greg. Good job. Didn't exactly look his best, but 2 runs in 6 IP is just fine for me.

I could tell instantly from Maddux's body language when he was talking to Rothschild that he was gassed. We're lucky we escaped that inning without harm.

I would've taken that every game he pitched this year.

Hey, dumb stealing attempt, Matt.

Uh, not really. It was a 3-1 count. Who is coming up after JJ? Neifi, Blanco, Maddux. Not exactly RBI machines. I'd say it was a fine place to run.

Better to let JJ swing, if he gets out then Neifi/Blanco/Maddux go down 1-2-3 the next inning and you go back to the top of the order for the inning after that.

I would disagree, although that is a really good point. I would argue that with the Cubs up by 3, and Maddux on the mound, if Murton can get into scoring position it would be much easier for Jones/Neifi/Blanco to score him. Worth the risk imo. Plus, there might be a PH for Maddux.
