Hill almost killed by a liner there. Luckily he got his glove on it and got the guy at first. Hill appears to be okay.

Here comes the tarp.

i was wondering if that was going to happen...i saw that it was raining pretty good when i got out of class. 98 pitches for hill...wonder if he was going to go back out for the 7th. even with some control issues in the 6th, still a great day for him. it'll be interesting to see what happens should marshall struggle tonight.

Why is he unable to do that in the majors?

who says he can't?

he had more good innings than bad when he was up last year.

Consistancy is the issue I guess.

and sample size.

And more negroes.

What you got against Marshall? He's pitched decently. Just without the stamina. I don't see him going down until Wood gets back, unless he gets shelled twice in a row.

i don't have anything against him...i've liked him for a long time. i just like hill better. plus, i haven't exactly been blown away by what he's done w/ the big league club.

and it does kinda tick me off that he hardly pitched all last year, but his 10 ST innings got him a spot in the rotation, while hill's fantastic 2005 got him right back to AAA.

Thanks, Raisin.

Please dominate, Rich. Thanks.

I actually provided Slugger with the starters since she didn't know who would be starting. So, you're welcome.

Oh, and Champion Broadband is the champion of sucky Internet connections. And kudos to Raisin for finding a computer in the office that doesn't block NSBB.

wow.

i'd say that rusch, marshall and guzman should be watching their back, but they really don't have to, so i won't say it.

Doesn't make any sense for Hill not to be part of the ML Cubs at this point. How he didn't get the nod over Guzman (pushed 1 day back instead of 3), I'll never know.

I wonder if Guzman is up as a "show-me" in a trade scenario.

Probably not. He's up there because of his potential. I wish it was Hill instead, I don't think Gooz is ready.

That looked like a rough inning for Rich all around.

It's gotta be frustrating to keep the ball on the ground and in the infield after a leadoff walk but still lose the shutout.

And have 1 ER in 6 IP raise your ERA, although that's not a bad position to be in.

The pitchers second in PCL ERA has given up 1 ER in 2 IP tonight, moving Hill into second for the time being. Chad Gaudin leads the PCL with a 0.52 ERA in 17.1 IP.
