broken wrist is what? 4-6 weeks and nagging for the rest of the season?

I don't think Lee's wrist is broken; he walked off the field under his own power.

so are we talking extended period of time injury here or just banged up and with the off day should be back for St.Louis? I know there is no way of knowing...but the people who watched it what are your thoughts?

Since he plays for the Cubs, I'm gonna say its an 80-90% chance it's broken. I really have no idea, but it looked really bad.

For another team is a 3 to 4 week injury. For the Cubs it's a 3 to 4 month injury.

I don't see that as being a break. Most likley a sprain.

A sprain is not nessarily better than a break.

I read furcal's lips on that play.

They said, you didn't give me my money, so now i'm going to take away your season.

Does he usually walk off on his hands?

I didn't say one was preferable. I just don't think he broke it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but people have broken their wrists before and have not had to be carried off the field.

Eyre hurt himself falling onto the ground to catch a ball. If he got hurt, you can blame the Cubs management for not caring if Eyre got in shape in the Spring.

Nice job Williamson to keep the game in control for now.

Come on Cubs Offense, you guys gotta wake the hell up and start scoring like crazy.

He beat me to it. BLAST!!

ESPN says precautionary x-rays - so I guess the bone isn't obviously broken. so 4-6 weeks is probably right. a sprain could be very bad as you just can't hit with a bad wrist. he may need to sit longer than he thinks.

Ron Santo has officially hit his most unlistenable.

Ron: Oh God, Oh geeze, oh no, oh oh oh.

Thanks for the information. Please go somewhere that isn't the broadcast booth. Thank you for all of your contributions and being a great fan, but you SUCK as a broadcaster.

What's Ron supposed to say in that situation?

Maybe I'm a jerk, but something in English would do. I am glad that he pulls for this team, but he adds nothing to the broadcast, especially in situations where things are not going well.

Sorry, I'm not with you on this one. I'd much rather Ron be showing concern than saying, "Now that we have a break in the action with DLee and Eyre down on the field, let me take this time to talk to you about Levitra"

Can a team really have WORSE luck on freak injuries than the Cubs?

Any team?

Oklahoma State basketball.

Take solace in knowing that it could always be worse. There's tragic and then there's tragedy.

pfft, no good players died.

Lol, Furcal could have cut Lee's arm off with an ax and he could have walked off on his own power. The wrist is not particularly important in walking. Its probably broken. We're the Cubs.

A comeback win would be a nice consolation prize.

Not really. This is like getting shot twice but finding a dollar on the street. It doesn't help to heal the pain.
