Let's hope Z brings Maddux's A-game to the mound tomorrow as the Cubs go for 3 in a row! (Maybe Z won't try to pick off Derek Lowe twice.)

Go Cubs! :)

time for Z to get it together. anyone think he is trying to do too much with prior and wood out?

He said that wasn't the case after his last start. But who knows?

I hope Todd gets the start again. His bat is too hot to sit right now.

I'm more curious as to whether it will be Barrett or Blanco catching.

Good question. Didn't Zambrano had better success when Blanco was catching for him last year?

boy, I hate to see Blanco in there. I really like the idea that the bottom of the order can produce some runs - to me this is a big improvement over cubs teams of the recent past. Last year, you might as well have not watched after Ramirez hit . . .

We are awesome.

You rushed it a little too much this time. It lost a little of it's presense. When you post it 3, 4, 5 post down into the topic, after a few responses, it seems to have a little more emmotional effect. .

I get that feeling too, sometimes I have to get it in when I can to make sure I remember though. We need more winning to work on the timing.

I dunno. I kind of like it batting in the 2-hole. Walker style. Of course, I'd also like a thread exclusively of TT writing that. i have no idea why.

yeah that's true. I find it has more effect particularly after we have lost a heartbreaking game or have had serious underacheiving in our offense or pitching in the previous game. And then proceed to win the next game. The gamethread after THAT, is when it's felt the most. 8)

I think he did that once. I think you're onto something here. TT, when we win a particularly grueling battle. Whether it's a great comback, or a dominant pitching or offensive performance. You should create a thread in the general forum.

It's time for Z to have one of his Gem's. Nothing like a big ballpark to get your mojo back. Cubs win this game 6-2.

Zambrano's best season (2004) happened when Barrett caught him almost exclusively.

Hmm.. interesting. For some reason, I kept thinking that Zambrano usually had good games with Blanco than Barrett.

I wonder if I can get the bartenders to turn the Cubs game on tonight. Their tip will depend on it.

Z really needs to have a great start. But for some reason, I'm not confident that he will.

The big ball park will help but Z has to keep his walks down to be effective.

I agree with you whole point. He needs to be the ace that we expected him to be this year.
