I thought this might make for a fun debate. By worst, of course, I mean most lopsided, stupid move by any team.

 

For starters, I nominate Texas trading Hafner to the Indians for Einar Diaz. Imagine that offense with Teix at first, Hafner at DH. Yowza.

It has been more than a decade, but the Bell for Sosa trade has to be one of the worst. And not from the Cubs end. :lol:

Lee for Choi is up there in terms of disparity in talent, although the Marlins had no chance of holding onto Lee in the first place.

I can't remember the exact details, but the Royals trading away Dye and someone else (can't recall) for Neifi Perez.

I don't know about everyone else, but to me, the worst trade can't be one in which one team made the deal strictly for financial reasons. And I'm sure there are a bunch of those.
