Pettite is getting clobbered. 3 runs in the first inning courtesy of home runs from Cabrera and Willingham. A win for Mitre would be nice for my fantasy team. (Don't laugh. It's NL-only and my players keep hurting themselves.)

My fantasy team has started Carlos Zambrano, Freddy Garcia, and Andy Pettite thus far. I don't know how I let Barry Zito get away.

Haha, Mitre is making the Astros look silly. Ensberg and Wilson flailing at pitches. I hope he keeps it up.

Yesterday's 1-0 games makes me mad in light of this showing by Houston. The run they scored lastnight was on a wild pitch; their offense is anemic. I wouldn't have minded a 0-2 start for the Astros.

Now its 8-0 Marlins

Meat Tray is cruisin'. He's set down 7 in a row and has struck out 4 in 4 innings of work. 5-0 Marlins.

Any loss by a central division foe is Good news for the Cubs.

BTW, I had no problem with Mitre being part of the Pierre deal.

Mitre is awesome. All he needed was a chance to pitch regularly in the majors. He wasn't going to get that chance with the Cubs. I'm glad to see him doing well.

You guys know how much I really like Mitre. I always felt he deserved a shot to be the starter over the course of a season. Hopefully it works out well for him in Florida. :D

Can we see Pettite get slaughtered again tomorrow?

Oh pretty please? With sugar on top? 8)

Sorry, no such luck. The Astros have one more starter that has shown he is capable of being decent, Backe. If Pettite keeps pitching like this and Oswalt and Backe have to carry the load, and if they continue to average 1/2 a run a game, the Astros are in biiiiiig trouble. :D

It might be a bit premature, but it's looking like the Padres might have a very, very, very rare rain out. It's raining pretty good at my place right now.

I *think* Oswalt can handle the load, but I'm not sure Backe will be able to continue at a high level all season long if he has to pitch with a tired bullpen every time out. That's alot of pressure on a youngun.

Please God, grant us an entire season of Pettite suckage. One time! 8)

Mitre's going to have a good season, imo.

At the very least, there should be a rain delay down there. There'll might be one late in the Braves-Dodgers game too.

Buchholz is their #5 starter. Backe is hurt and has been pushed back (Wandy goes tomorrow for the Astros instead).

People who think the Astros are going to win the NL Central this year are on crack. No way in hell are the Astros going to dig themselves out of this hole. They're offense is crap, and one pitcher so far has showed dominance.
