Adam Dunn is awesome. Only he can have two hits, a home run, and two rbi in a game, and still make it look bad.

Probably because his mistakes can be connected to 6 runs given up.

Jones hit the ball hard a couple of times.

The ball that went over his head was gonna be a double regardless.

However, if Murton keeps mashing like he did today, JJ will have to move down to the 7 spot.

One thing that caught my eye was the fact the Cubs drew 7 walks. Must be a record or something under Baker.

Lasy year, the CUBS drew 7 walks in a game three different times, and on Sun 10 July, in a 9-2 victory of the Marlins just before the All Star break, they took 9 walks in one game.

Does anyone know if the guy that had the hitting streak from last year kept it going today?

I don't know. Nobody said anything.

Yes, Jimmy Rollins extended his hit streak to 37 games with a double against the Cards.

Its great to have baseball back again. I'm very pleased to get a win today. Hopefully Matt Murton blossoms into a solid contributor on this team for years to come.

I predict by the end of the year we will be looking at Murton, Lee, and Ramirez as solid big boppers. .

25 homers for Murton is not out of the question, IMO.

He's on pace for 162 HR and 486 RBI.

I can't believe that Murton's homer went out. I thought he was jammed and was just going to hit a blooper or a flyout. Maybe the wind helped, maybe Murton is pretty strong, but that was a great homer. Keep it up Matt!
