I would assume that Jones will be hitting 5th or 6th in the order and Walker would probably be 2nd. I do think that Murton and/or Cedeno could develop into very good #2 hitters.

ya, I read that yesterday - he must not have been on this site too much or there is no way that he would have JJ in the 2 spot. Let's hope Baker is not reading...

The Edward K reference is brilliant (am I the only one who got that?)

Not even close to the only one.

Someone needs to take a silencer to Edward K.'s house and keep him away from Dusty until this season is over.

I like barrett but i dont think hed fit in the 5th spot.

if hairston wins the 2b job i like the first one, but if walker wins the 2b job and cedeno does well i like the second one.

Explain. I like Barrett in the 5 hole. Decent OBP, good gap hitter. better OBP and SLG than Jones, definitely.

What are you thinking? You need SPEED at the top. it rattles the pitcher and stuff.

good thing we didn't follow your methods, Billy.

I know you were being sarcastic, but, for what it's worth, Milton Bradley and Derrek Lee are pretty fast, and they're two of the top three!

They're not 50 steal threats, but at least they don't slap at the ball.

But you want players that slap at the ball and leg out infield hits. they're the hallmark of a playoff team!

Which is why I'm training Brian Giles to do all that. Why do you think I got him in the first place?

can someone explain edward K for the clueless?

Carrie Muskat's most hopelessly "misinformed" emailer ever.

Will Neifi Perez be starting at shortstop this year? After doing such a good job filling in for Garciaparra last year, I would think he'd be a great choice. Do the Cubs have other plans for him?

-- Edward K., Indianapolis, Ind.

Remember, Perez was originally signed to be a backup. The Cubs would like to give Ronny Cedeno a chance to be the starting shortstop. Cedeno was third in batting in the Venezuelan League this winter the last time I checked. Perez will get his at-bats.
