    if we needed a 5-7 hitter walker would be perfect, but we need a 2 hitter. I like hairston better their because of his speed. maybe if jones can hit well, then he could bat 2nd and walker 5th.

    lee has a lot more speed than ramirez so he should bat third. id like to see pierre, hairston, lee, ramirez, jones, murton, barrett, cedeno.

    expect jones to do pretty well. he knows what he was doing wrong last year (pulling the ball) and is dedicated to becomeing a .300 hitter again. He was working with tony gwinn this off season. He is at his best when he is hitting the ball into the left-center gap. he has 20-25 HR power and 15-25 SB speed. he has been a free swinger throughout his career, so i dont think he will fit well into the 2 hole. he would fit very well into the 5 spot. so after seeing him play for the twins everyday for 4 years, I am hoping he will hit .300/25/95 with 25 SB, but am expecting .300/20/75 with 10-20 SB, depending on how often dusty sends him.

    walker has the lead for the job so far. He is a very consistent hitter, he is a lefty, and his defense is not half as bad as people say it is. but hairston is a good fit in the two hole if he can get on base and stay healthy. he has good speed and his defense is better than walker's. dont look at last year for hairston, he was not fully healthy. so if hairston is indeed healthy and can get on base, i say give him the job. and dont kid yourself, neifi wont win it. I have, however, seen dusty do dumber things (patterson leading off or hawkins closing) so i shouldnt speak too soon.

Pierre 2. cedeno 3. lee 4. ramirez 5. jones 6. murton 7. walker 8. barrett I like barrett but i dont think hed fit in the 5th spot. if hairston wins the 2b job i like the first one, but if walker wins the 2b job and cedeno does well i like the second one.
