Greenberg Adam

Grissom Marquis

McGehee Casey

Miller Wade

Ojeda Augie

Pignatiello Carmen

Restovich Michael

Simontacchi Jason

Sing Brandon

Valdez Raul

Wells Randy

Not too surprising, Jake Fox will be interesting, hopefully they stick him behind the plate rather than keep him there for a PH/DH.

I'm guessing one 5th OF will make the team and that's about it, barring injury.

OF- Pierre, Jones, Murton, Mabry

IF- Ramirez, Lee, Walker, Perez, Cedeno, Hairston

C- Blanco, Barrett

SP- Prior, Zambrano, Maddux, Rusch, Williams

RP- Dempster, Howry, Eyre, Ohman, Wuertz, Williamson

That leaves 2 roster spots. If Wood is ready to go, he has one of them, with the Cubs pitcher fetish if he's not ready Novoa will be the ever important 7th reliever.

So, I think it comes down to Grissom vs. Restovich for the final roster spot.

Will Wellemeyer be traded? He is out of options

Novoa starts @ Iowa as the closer?

Who goes down when Miller is ready? Williams, Wuertz?

I think the Cubs will try to get something out of Wellemeyer, when they see he isn't making the team. I'm pretty sure someone would pick him up if he was available late in spring (Colorado comes to mind).

Yeah, I think Novoa will be at Iowa, if Wood is ready.

I'm guessing Miller will be eased along until there is an injury, which there inevitably will be. I think Williams and Wuertz will pitch their way onto permanent spots. I think Wuertz will wind up ahead of Williamson in the bullpen.

Didn't we lose Greenberg in the Rule 5 draft?

No, we designated him for assignment, no one picked him up, and I believe he was outrighted to Iowa.

EA bought exclusive rights to the NFL, a sport that they have dominated in sales for the past 14 centuries. Smart move by them. 3DO, or whoever it is that makes the crappy MLB games but pretty good NFL games then retaliated by buying exclusive rights to MLB.

So, basically, us gamers lost big time.

At least in MVP 06 you can go to "summer rules" which are essentially MLB rules with takeout slides and wood bats. The gameplay engine is greatly improved.
