Marshall's a possibility. I'd guess he's start the year at Double A though. There's also Koronka.

Hill and Ryu.

Guzman might start at Iowa, might start at WTenn.

Marmol I'd expect to start at WTenn, but could be wrong.

Koronka at Iowa, but will he start or pitch relief?

Brownlie, same question

Pignatiello, same question.

Valdes, same question.

Most likely they'll sign a non-roster veteran, at least one or perhaps two.

When it comes down to it, Iowa will probably have two good prospects, one or two FA veterans, and one or two fringey prospects from the Brownlie/Pigs/Koronka/Valdes type pool.

Hill, Pinto, Nolasco, Ryu, Guzman

Wait....

No kidding. The runaway choice for best team in the PCL is now limping.

I think Brownlie is destined for the bullpen.

I wonder if JC is still his biggest fan?

It sounded like Brownlie's velocity was up to 91-93 range before the end of the year. I'm hoping that he is finally over his problems and has a great comeback year. Wouldn't mind seeing him in the rotation.

Glad to see that he was not selected in the rule 5 draft.

needless to say, i'm not nearly as excited about going to see the i-cubs as i was last week.

Did you enjoy it more when Nolasco and Pinto were giving up 7 to 8 runs a game ?

assuming koronka is going to stay in the pen and brownlie goes back to the rotation (if his increased velocity reports are true): hill, guzman, marmol, brownlie & pignatello sounds like a pretty good rotation to me (especially the top 3).

Hill, Ryu, Valdes, Pignatiello, non-roster guy.

Brownlie and Koronka in the AAA pen.

Guzman, Marmol and Marshall starting at AA. All 3 could be promoted rather quickly to AAA. I think the most likely of those 3 to start at AAA is Marmol - the Cubs promoted him aggressively last year and might continue to do so. I think he could use some more time at AA, though.

What's Blasko's deal? Is he done?

He should be back this year from the shoulder injuries. He spent most of last year recovering from surgery and rehabing. We'll see if he can get back to his 2003 playing level.
