hmmm whats the best roster you can think of from all the teams in baseball? ill take a wiff at it....

LF scott posednik

SS derek jeter

1B derek lee

RF manny ramirez

3B alex rodriguez

2B jeff kent

CF aaron rowand

C pudge rodriquez

SP1 johan santana

SP2 roy oswalt

SP3 mark buehrle

SP4 mark prior

SP5 carlos zambrano

Set-up men: eddie guardaro, tom gordon

closer: trevor hoffman

to me, thats just a great team. tremendous speed at the top of the order between posednik and jeter, a great 1/2 combo. with those two in front of him, derrek lee, manny, and Arod would probably produce 400 RBI's between them. posednik would probably get 100 steals. how could any pitcher focus on him when he's facing jeter, DLee, manny, and Arod?

as far as 2B, i picked kent simply because he plays up to the standard of guys like jeter. he's just as a good player and i liked when he didnt back down to barry bonds in SF.

i picked rowand because i love the guy. he's a tremendous all-around player, highly professional. this team would win 135 games.

The ideal roster is the best player at each position, I don't care about where they fit in the order, I just want the best overall player at each position.

You're kidding about Posednik, right? He wouldn't be in the top 30 outfielders that I would choose.

Blanton over Roy O?

There is a 3 yr diff - but yeah maybe I made a mistake there. How about I bump Z out for Oswalt because... well... I hate Z and I'm petty.

I've talked to a lot of Cards fans...and they all hate Z, and yes, they're all petty.
