  1. Not a chance in hell Absolutely. AI is everything that Bulls don't like in their players.
  2. So you're saying the NBA good teams are Sean Avery, and the bad teams are Dion Phaneuf?
  3. To be fair, at least the Brewers fans are just as annoyed about Kendall leading off as we are with Soriano leading off. At least we have that in common.
  4. Ultimately Hendry and Piniella has to decide which is more important to the club: Blanco's glove or Miles contract. Can Hendry admit he made a mistake with Miles and DFA or buy him out? Blanco has a comparably bat to Miles, but he is so much better defensively then Miles. There is nothing Miles brings to the club that actually improves the club. Hendry would garner some respect by admitting his mistake with Miles and cutting ties with him. The 2nd half bench should look something like this: 1B/OF: Hoffpauir 1b/3B/OF: Fox Util: Blanco Util: Baker or Fontenot, whoever is not starting. OF: Johnson C: Hill And simply put Miles does not have a role on this team that can't be filled with someone better. So, IMO Miles is prolly on his last legs with the Cubs.
  5. This is dumb. This is like saying, "I'd rather keep Ryan Theriot than Aramis Ramirez." Why would you "rather they keep" a worse basketball player? Because maybe, just maybe Hinrich is the better BASKETBALL player then Gordon. BG is one heckva scorer, no doubt, but there is more to basketball then just scoring, and BG refuses to do anything other then score. So yes as a BASKETBALL player, Hinrich is better then Gordon. No. Last summer, Gordon was mulling over an offer from the Bulls and they gave him a deadline to accept it (why they gave him a deadline, I have no idea). Shortly after their arbitrary deadline had passed, Gordon came back to accept the offer and Reinsdorf yanked it off the table. So the Bulls decided they didn't want to be held hostage by it's own player and you think it is their fault for pulling their offer? BG had more then enough time to decide if the offer was legit, and good enough for his signature. And it is in the team's rights to put a timetable on a player to sign a contract or not. If Gordon was a better player, then no timetable would have been set, but let's face facts, BG will a great scorer, is no All-Star, no All-Defensive team, etc, etc, he doesn't get the same rights as say a legit star like a Wade, James, Anthony, etc, etc. Sorry, you may think that is cheap by the Bulls, I think it's smart business decision, and quite frankly BG did the right thing and hesitated on the offer, thus the Bulls are not handcuff with two bad contracts and (let's face it, if BG took the deal, it would have been a horrible deal) it leaves the Bulls in position to be major players in next yr's class. It is BG's fault for having to leave Chicago, not the Bulls.
  6. I know what articles I am going to be skipping over.
  7. Flames; Ben Gordon had two yrs to negotiate a contract, and refused and/or ignore the Bulls offer. So don't blame Gordon leaving on Deng. Deng wised up and took the offer, BG didn't. Losing BG, to me, is no big deal. We've seen talented, yet frustrating players move on (ie Jamal Crawford) and we're better off after said player left. Gordon wanted to leave, plain and simple. I don't care if we didn't get anything back (Technically that's not true, seeing as we got future cap space in return for not being saddled with a 2nd bad and unwise contract), BG is simply not a player to be upset about losing.
  8. I've only seen him nixed a trade to Edmonton, but who else has he nixed a trade to?
  9. Can we safely assume that this Bell rumor is more of wishful thinking then an actual rumor?
  10. Damn. He's a good player. Yes he is, but considering he has taken potshots at the Hawks management (rightfully or not is besides the point) on his twitter account makes him sound bitter. Good luck in Minny, Marty.
  11. Lee has got to be it at this point. Prolly not. Fielder/Pujols and Gonzalez from San Diego will prolly be the first basemens on the NL team. I suspect the Cubs representative could be Ted Lilly.
  12. I don't mind Madden as long as he is on the 3rd line.
  13. Where are you seeing Gordon to Detroit is done? All I keep seeing is hes visiting there today and could get offer, but nothing about him signing. sorry, i should have said that that's the prevailing opinion. Ah ok yea I think he will see what Det offers then go back to Chi and see if they will match or beat it. I still think hes back in Chicago. The Bulls should NOT match Detroit's offer for Gordon. Don't want two crappy long-term deals on the cap. Gordon had his chance to reupped but either ignore or rejected the Bulls offer. So, c-ya, BG.
  14. No surprise. I wonder if this means it will either be a Rose/Hinrich backcourt, or a Rose/Salmons backcourt. Either way the Bulls prolly will need to sign either another guard or SF.
  15. I know they won't lose them next yr, but I am talking in a couple of yrs. And I agree I think Sharp/Buff (I would hate to lose either) are definately expandable if it means keeping Toews and Kane. Besides I think ultimately, Aliu and Beach could essentially replace both them in a yr or so (if they are banned from hockey). If they can keep those guys next year, they can keep them longer term. I think Toews is going to get a long term deal. Kane may only get something like a 3-year deal, same with Keith. But I don't see the point in being worried about that now. There's no way in knowing where the cap will be in 4 years, and they only have Hossa and Campbell signed that long. One thing is certain, it won't be the same team. They have some trade bait, and they have some guys that would be nice to move. I did say I was happy, RIGHT NOW.

  17. I, for one, thought the Hawks were going to be quiet on the free agency market and just re-signed current team free agents. Obviously, I am wrong as Tallon went out and got arguably the best offensive talent on the market for 12 friggin' years. On one hand a line of Toews centering to Kane and Hossa=DANGEROUS, but on the other hands, I am fearful that this could mean one or more of Kane/Keith/Toews will be lost. ( I pray that is not the case). But right now, I am estatic about landing Hossa. Then I see Habby going to Edmonton, I wouldn't mind have brought him back, but I wish him the best in Edmonton. Now TB overpaying by a long shot for Matt Walker is simply hilarious. Marion Hossa on the Hawks............just wow. This just didn't come out of left field, it came from outer space. And like most, I hope Havlat put's his pride in check for one more yr in Chicago, make a run with the Hawks and then reenter FA at 29 next yr. I mean if Hossa can get a 12 yr deal at 30, Havlat could get an equal deal next yr. If Havlat does come back the top two lines would look: Toews/Kane/Hossa, and Bolland/Sharp/Havlat, and that is "very nice." We shall see.
  18. Even tho they said publicly they won't trade Marshall, but something tells me they will and these kind of stories being release to the public only means they are trying to justify it. It would not surprise me if Marshall is on another team come training camp. (note: I didn't say it would be the Bears.)
  19. Don't get me wrong, Dumars was a heckuva GM early in his tenure and the Pistons were great when they have the "the sum is better then their parts" strategy of building a team. But come on, you have to think long term. Billups/Rip/Two Wallaces were all pushing the wrong side of 30 yrs old. Taking Carmelo or Bosh would have allowed Detroit to trade either Prince or R. Wallace were they still had real good value and they continue to be an elite team in the east. Those GM's along with Dumars, should have had their heads checked. You can't based your opinion on a Euro on what others sees. Darko was not all that good even with the hype, and you just knew Brown was not going to play Darko. That was a waste of time for everybody involved. I didn't say I believe it, I said early on I had heard a rumor that Lambeer could be considered. Since then that rumor died out. Agreed. Curry was simply over his head as a Head Coach and at least Dumars admitted his mistake. I too think Doug will be the new Pistons head coach, because he was definately interested in the Bulls job, before it unrattled. So I believe Collins will be the Det's new coach.
  20. Personally, no matter how good a scorer Gordon is, he's too much of a 1 dimensional player to pay out a contract of $10 mill plus. Let Detroit overpay his arse. Detroit will find out how bad a backcourt of Stuckey and Gordon truly will be at least on the defensive side of the ball.
  21. I think everybody, for once, is in agreement with this statement.
  22. I hate baseball right now. The Cubs lose to a pitcher with "dorf" in his last name, and yet the Brewers can beat Johan Santana? FML.
  23. Yeah, I saw that, and I agree. Any GM who passes on Wade/Anthony and Bosh to take Darko should be instantly fired. But I digress. I hear the new coach will either be Doug Collins or Bill Lambeer.
