  1. It ain't over yet for Kobe. He still hasn't won a championship without a great HC. Are we going to not count any of Kobe or MJ or Russell's championships because of that? Dang it, my sarcasm cannot be read properly.

  3. I agree with you that are concerned about the offense but I see our bulletin as the real problem. I don't know if Pedro would be willing to go to the bullpen but I like the idea of him being tried as a closer. He can't do any worse. I neither have confidence in Gregg nor Marmol. If Pedro is dead set on starting, how about puting Martinez in the starting rotation and moving Randy Wells to middle relief. What are your thoughts on the matter? Personally, if the Cubs signed Pedro it would be for the starting rotation, and then a move to the bullpen for the rest of the yr for both Wells and Marshall. I know you don't have confidence in Marmol, but I still do. Because outside of his control, Marmol's numbers are in line with last yr's numbers with slight differences. If you get the walks in check and Marmol goes back to McNasty. Gregg is the guy I don't trust at all. You get Marmol to trust his stuff and gt his walks in order, you move Wells and Marshall in the bullpen with Guzman and Ascanio and you eliminate Waddell and Patton from the bullpen, and you have the makings of a damn good bullpen. I know alot of ifs, but still the potential is there. The biggest problem is offense. Right now it is a vicious cycle. The offense can't score which makes the pitchers have to pitch better. But when the pitcher tries to hard and give up runs then they put the offense in a bad position. You get the offense fixed, and you almost will see instant improvement in your bullpen.
  4. No surprise at all. Could you imagine the heat that McDaniels would be facing from the Denver media that after trading Cutler for Orton, he made Simms the starter? He would be roasted.
  5. Absolutely. Even if the call was correct, I would like to see Lou erupt and get himself suspended if for nothing else to allow himself a chance to recharge the batteries, so to speak. That, or have Z punch out Hill and get Koyie traded for Blanco or something.
  6. About to lose two of three from a team that is 10-20 on the road. No use in getting mad anymore. This is typical Cubs baseball, and the last two yrs were an abberation.
  7. Quick let's offer them Kevin Gregg and Aaron Miles and get K-Rod......... :ninja:
  8. Oh dex...... :-)) Nonetheless, this allows the Cubs to use what resources they have to improving the offense, if they chose to.
  9. Who's Ryan Sandberg? I know Ryne, but not Ryan. My vote: Jim Hendry should be on the All Star team.
  10. Yeah, JA should be all over this. But the one thing that bothers me is that Plax said he wants to play for the Jets so that he can "stick it to the Giants." Hey Plax you know how to stick it to the Giants? Sign with the Bears lead them to playoffs and a possible deep run. Something the Jets are at best 50-50 at doing right now. Better yet the Bears don't have to face a NE Patriots team twice a yr or have to face them until the Super Bowl.
  11. Absolutely. The Cubs have taught me to keep expectations to a minimum.
  12. Sucks to be Hossa right now. Losing side of the Stanley Cup in back to back years must really suck. Like Cyno, I can't stand Sidney Crosby (too much talent to do some of the stunts he do), but I do like Fleury, Malkin and Staal, so congrats to the Penguins.
  13. Chances the Twins score more in this game then the Cubs do the whole series?
  14. Well that kinda happens when a pitcher knows he has to be perfect because he knows his offense isn't going to score. Thats not an excuse every pitcher that goes out there tries to be perfect when they pitch. True, but when you know the offense is going to score.......you tend to do things you are not capable of doing and compounding the problem.
  15. No way man, I want the Twins to put this game away so I can go about my business for the day.
  16. Well that kinda happens when a pitcher knows he has to be perfect because he knows his offense isn't going to score.
  17. That would suck for the Kings.
  18. There is a god. If there was a god that Miles would not be on the Cubs.
  19. And..............I should be shocked and angry about a non-story.
  20. hopefully one of those changes involves recusing himself as cubs' manager. Alan Trammel your locker awaits No way dude. Trammel once coached arguably the worst team in MLB history, no way he wants to manage these scrubs.
  21. Quick somebody inject Aaron Miles with some kind of steroids and then rat his arse off to MLB. Hopefully we can get a 50 game suspension for Miles.
  22. Reports are Grossman is being signed to compete for the 3rd QB on the roster behind Schaub/Orlansky. Just wow.
  23. The magic 8 ball says................no.
