I didn't chose "arbitrary numbers", I chose the most productive players by numbers on each team. The Bears had 6 guys with at least 300 yards with a very average QB in Kyle Orton, and the Broncos had 4 guys with at least 500 yards with a Top 5 QB in pure talent in Cutler. What I am saying is that Broncos' offense players are going to take a hit because they downgraded in QB and added a playmaker at RB. And the Bears offensive players are going to get a bump in production because they upgraded at QB. Brandon Marshall is clearly the best reciever on either team, of this I don't questioned. But Eddie Royal and Devin Hester are both in the same boat. Both had productive years (remember Hester is still learning the position) considering the QB play. Suffice to say it won't surprise me if Hester has a better season next yr then Royal because of the QB. Being unknown doesn't mean inferior. Both Marshall and Royal were unknown until they got playing time and having Jay Cutler didn't hurt either players development. So it wouldn't surprise me if Bennett and/or Iglesias have Eddie Royal type breakout year next yr. So yes, call me an optimist. He's better then you think. Did you know Matt Forte had more combined yards (recieving + rushing) as a rookie then Adrian Peterson? That's right Forte had 1715 yards to AP 1609 yards, and this was with a very medicore line in Chicago. So before you knocked Matt Forte give him a better line (which I'm hoping adding Pace to LT, Williams to RT and Omiyale to one of the guard spot) and this young man can close the gap. I'm not saying Forte is as good as AP, but AP isn't THAT much better then Forte. The fact that he was still productive even tho he basically carried the offense, not to mention he doesn't have fumbleitis like Adrian Peterson (Forte had 1 Fumble: 1 lost last yr, AP had 9 fumbles: 4 lost) tells me Forte can and should be better next yr, just like AP did from rookie to sophomore years. As for Shank, he's also a good four yrs older then Olsen. He may have been slightly better then Olsen last yr, but he's mostly hit his ceiling as a player. Not to mention Shank may be a better blocker then Olsen, but Dez is right there as a blocker. We can do this pissing contest all day if you like, but the fact is right now it's a toss up as to which team is the true favorites for the division. I give it to the Bears, because we've address our weakness big time.
