  1. 4.89, 4.48, 3.33, 2.88 At best, two of those things do not belong. W/E all I am saying is that Cliff Lee is good, but not superman as you making him out to be. I hate the Brewers but they would have creamed Lee.
  2. The brewers didnt face Cliff Lee either, and were involved in high scoring games in all of them. Cliff Lee is good, but with the way the Brewers were hitting in Cleveland, Lee would have been beaten down. Thats ridiculous to assume. There is a big difference in Cliff Lee and the rest of the scrubs in the Cleveland rotation Not it's not. They've beaten Randy Johnson, Cole Hamels, and Wainwright this year, so it's perfectly reasonable they could have beaten Cliff Lee.

  4. It's good to know the Cubs are not good enough to beat an Indians team that got roasted at home against the Brewers.
  5. Mark Teahen would be the closest thing to a replacement for DeRosa. If we could throw enough prospects at the Royals, we should be able to get him. I know hes been linked in rumors to the Cubs for the past few years now, but I dont know how serious any of it was. We really don't need a "replacement" for Derosa, but a player who is immensely more productive then Aaron "blippin'" Miles.
  6. I understand and see the Bears group of WR as being talented, but unproven. I get that. Getting a WR a good QB is half the battle, I get that. But with the current WR on the roster (admittedly, some may not be on the team come the season), doesn't really inspire me as a fan: Devin Aromashodu (6 games, 7 rec) Earl Bennett (zero games) John Broussard *8 games 4 rec) Rashied Davis Deven Hester Juaquin Iglesias* Johnny Knox* Eric Peterman* Brandon Rideau (2 games) Derek Kinder* So you have 4 rookies (Knox/Iggy/Kinder/Peterman), a 2nd yr WR with no game experience (Bennett), 3 WR who seem destined for the practice squad one of which is a rookie (Broussard, Aromashodu and Peterman), a still developing WR (Hester), an organization player (Rideau) and a bottom of the depth chart WR (Davis). To me potential is great, and having a great QB is key, but to expect Cutler to help developed all of these WR's is not overly smart. Not to mention if the Bears hierarchy (ie Angelo and Smith) really like what they have at WR then why not come out and flat out deny they have interests in available WR? Angelo going for Boldin at the draft, then flip flopping on Plax, tells me that while they do like what they have, but would love to bring in a vet WR with skill the Bears do not currently have. I get Olsen could/should have a big year this yr, and I get Forte should see prolly a slight uptick in recieving numbers this yr, but the Bears do need a WR who can take pressure off Hester. It's as simple as that. And there isn't a WR on the roster that can do that.
  7. I think the biggest need is at 2B. I no longer believe Fontenot is an everyday player, but he can still be a productive player. (Moving Fontenot back to his role as lefty half of a platoon/good bat off the bench would benefit both Fontenot and the Cubs). Excluding the former Cub who is beloved, why not try for a player like Freddy Sanchez, Clint Barmes or even Felipe Lopez? I know none of the three are impact bats, but are solid enough to make the offense better.
  8. It's because it didn't hit him. Gordon didn't even sell being hit and the ump still bought it.
  9. early speculation (or writers' guess) is that would the hawks be willing to part with campbell for heatley, if that is the case then i would have make that trade yesterday. Keith and Biscuit are already the Hawks top blue line pairing, and the Hawks have other interesting D prospects that are coming.
  10. Exactly, add in the four from last yr and he would have gotten 8 games in total. Giving him 12 would open a door for the NFLPA to file and win an appeal. I don't think the Giants suspension constitutes a hold on what Goodell can do, but I agree 4 games is more likely. I was just throwing it out there for discussion. Like I said, I would take Plax. I'd prefer the 4 games to be served at the beginning of the year, of course. As long as Plax would be allow to participate in training camp and the preseason, then I too would prefer the four games at the beginning of the season.
  11. Especially when you look at the picks for the Bulls. I don't see us going to an all-guard rotation anytime soon. I could see Lawson at 16th (since there have been rumors that the Bulls would like to play Rose off the ball more next yr, and picking Lawson could confirm that they could/trade Hinrich) and a big at 26th less likely, IMO, or a big at 16th (Hansborugh most likely) and either Ellington or Thornton at 26th, but not both picks being guards. With that said.... http://www.nbadraft.net/2009mock_draft I know, I know nbadraft.net isn't the best source, but I find it interesting that they have the Bulls talking TWO SF. I like Earl Clark, and if he is there at 16 and the Bulls take him, I would estatic.
  12. Who was suspended 4 games? Plaxico. He was suspended by the Giants, not the NFL. The NFL can still suspend him. Regardless, he won't be suspended for half the season. Four is the absolute max he'll get. Exactly, add in the four from last yr and he would have gotten 8 games in total. Giving him 12 would open a door for the NFLPA to file and win an appeal.
  13. Who was suspended 4 games? Plaxico. He was suspended by the Giants, not the NFL. The NFL can still suspend him. I know, but the question is will the suspended him 4 games or 8 games. Personally I think he gets the 4 games.
  14. Yay, get to see the Cubs get shut out by the White Sox at Wrigley. Grrrrrrrrreat.
  15. Who was suspended 4 games? Plaxico.
  16. Lol he basically did everything he could in that interview to get Wade to say he wants to play for the Bulls, but Wade wouldnt bite. I dont blame Wade as nothing good would come out of it for him right now, but man he was being pressured. Yeah, I get the feeling that Wade is putting pressure on Miami to get him so help or he'll bolt, but he is doing is politely.
  17. The Cubs 2nd rd pick, DJ Cajun last name showed his "Cubness" be nearly ground into a double play and then get thrown out on a broken "hit and run" play. Su--weet.
  18. Now if Woody Paige is correct (and I know he is Denver's version of Jay Mariotti, Skip Bayless, or some random idiot), I think most Denver fans would have no problem dumping the "diva." http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_12597316 I know it is a Woody Paige article, but some of these "incidents" that Marshall have been involve with has me thinking twice about trying to acquire him. I would not part with anything higher then a 4th rd pick for this "diva." Right now, I think I prefer Plax over Marshall. I'm not saying they won't trade him. I'm saying they won't trade him to the Bears because of the awful PR potential of Cutler and Marshall both having a chance to succeed, together, on another team. Again, maybe my point was too subtle, but the point I was trying to make was if the Broncos fans want him gone I doubt they'll care if it's the Bears or not. Getting Marshall off their team seem to be their priority. With that said, I believe I read somewhere that Cleveland might have interests in Marshall. So......

  20. I'm hoping for Terence Williams or DeJuan Blair (though the news about his knee problems are worrisome). Wouldn't complain about Psycho T or James Johnson at 16. I would love Omri Casspi at 26. Those are the four I want at 16. Blair, Johnson, Williams, Hansbrough in order. Raisin, don't hate me, but I'd be ok with Budinger at 26 After reading that, Budinger is definately not a GarPax player.
  21. While I do agree that the timing of a Lloyd signing is abit odd (the same day that Marshall requests a trade), I wouldn't put much stock in it yet. I know Denver doesn't want to go through another "drama fill" couple of weeks about Marshall, so Denver and McDaniels could deem Marshall as a player who doesn't fit the "McDaniels plan" and cut bait with him and basically build the offense around Moreno, Schleffer and Royal. This would be the capper of a great offseason for the Bears, and a crappy offseason for the Broncos if such a deal happens. With that said, I don't know if Denver really wants to trade it's two best offensive players in the same offseason. And I do not see Denver getting a first rd pick as part of a package either. Consider this (correct me if I am wrong) but there have been at least two trades in the last 30 years in which a WR fetch his old team a first rd pick as part of the deal: Dave Casper (Raiders to the Oilers in 1980) and Roy Williams (Detroit to Dallas last yr). So I am wondering if Marshall could be had for Bennett and a 2nd, or a 2nd and a 4th, or a 2nd in '10 and 2011. This could get interesting.
  22. Hmmm....interesting idea. Marshall dealt to NY Jets, Marvin Harrison's name is starting the make the rounds with TB, and Plax to the Bears? All get their coveted reciever. Pipedream, but one that COULD happen.
  23. Personally, I don't see the Bears having enough to pull off a Brandon Marshall trade (boy, oh boy that would be great, and be the perfect ending to a wonderful offseason), unless the Bears dip into the 2011 draft picks. We see how well that has worked for Washington. I do agree with the poster who said the Broncos "must" keep Marshall, or McDaniels and the Broncos lose a lot of credibility. Now with that said, I believe Marshall becomes an UFA next yr (or RFA if not CBA is agreed upon) so his time in Denver is prolly coming to an end, at least to Marshall himself.
  24. A outstandingly bad offseason continues for the Denver Broncos.
  25. It ain't over yet for Kobe. He still hasn't won a championship without a great HC. Are we going to not count any of Kobe or MJ or Russell's championships because of that? Dang it, my sarcasm cannot be read properly. Apologies. No problem. Much like the Boston "Babe Curse", I'm glad we don't have to hear about Kobe needing to win a title without Shaq to prove his "place" in the game.
