  1. The only place that is saying Marshall is Karl Ravech's mouth. I trust printed source long before I trust Ravech's mouth.
  2. Did Hill do anything noticeably different tonight? Didn't watch the game. Good location on the curve tonight?
  3. The Cubs are closer to first than third for the first time all year.
  4. It could mean they realized they were waiting for HENRY BLANCO to make it back to the team and help things. When Henry Blanco is the hitting savior for the catching situation, something needs to be done. It would be nice to unload Jones and Izturis on some team that would value them based on reputation rather than current abilities, but unfortunately the Cubs can't trade them to themselves.
  5. What is Derrek Lee's power potential? I'll take Cub batting woes for 1000, Alex.
  6. I agree. Murton, Cedeno, or Soto (in that order). man, you know the awesome thing about those kids? they can all be called up! and...with the benefit of dumping... jones, izturis, and eyre! rawk! too bad this will never happen Do you want a better team or a more cost efficient team? If a move will do at worst one without affecting the other, and at best both, I say do it. Can't see how Murton would be any worse against lefties than JJ, or how Cedeno would be any more useless than Izturis.
  7. Apparently so, since it was a vote and all...
  8. Not for about a year. But there are..."extenuating" circumstances...
  9. Still plenty of talent around. Taurean Green, DJ Strawberry, JamesOn Curry...
  10. Aaron Gray, 7-2, 271. Projected late first to early second. Not a bad pick.
  11. Noah is 7-0, 225. PJ Brown is 6-11, 240, and Wallace is 6-9, 240. It's not beyond a stretch of the imagination for Noah to put on a good 10 lbs of muscle in workouts and training. I think it's a lot closer than you would think.
  12. Couldn't disagree more...he is much more likely to bust than to ever be a star. Take away the crazy hair, the great supporting cast he had (he was actually part of the supporting cast to Horford/Brewer), the famous parents and the bombastic personality and you're left with an above-average, undersized non-scoring tweener. Most overrated player in the draft. How is Noah undersized? 7 feet not tall enough? 225 not built enough?
  13. I look at it as "the next Brad Miller" vs. "the next Ben Wallace". I think Noah actually makes someone like Wallace expendable, and usable as a piece in a trade to bring in a big money player.
  14. I'd much rather see the Bulls either use the 9 pick as a trading chip to get in a big time player (and no, Zach Randolph doesn't really count), or use it to trade into the bottom of the first round and pick up a Dudley or Fazekas.
  15. I'd rather draft Wright than Hawes, personally. He just looks in the mold of the next big white guy.
  16. Santana, Peavy, Cabrera, Pujols, Reyes
  17. I am very confident in the Cubs ability to secure at least the wildcard if they continue to win at the same pace they have been over the last 6 days.
  18. I look at it as they are paying 5 million whether or not he plays, so it doesn't hurt them any more to play a better player in his place.
  19. At this point I'd be pretty disappointed in a 3-3 homestand.
  20. Tulowitzki was the key hitter for the inning. Rockies have no power on the bench, so just throw strikes, Marmol!
  21. Apparently not Ohman. Rockies have 7-8-9 coming up in the 9th, 9 spot likely a PH. A nice, easy inning would be a pleasant surprise.
  22. 2-run HR for Atkins after decently long flies to Holliday and Helton. Get out of the inning with the lead, Petrick, that's all I ask.
  23. Sigh, nothing more frustrating than not being able to find the plate with a 4-run lead. Well, ok, maybe hits on 4 consecutive pitches to turn a 5-run lead into a 1-run deficit is more frustrating.
