  1. You sure about that? Bulls' passing ratings: Rose: 9.1 Hinrich: 6.8 Gordon 4.8 Deng: 3.2 Noah: 2.9 Salmons: 2.9 Ty. Thomas: 0.7 4.8 for a guard is generally not good. 71st in the NBA last year, which, considering 29 teams, is on average worse than almost 3 players per team. Being 3rd on the Bulls just reiterates the point that the Bulls were generally not a good passing team.
  2. Gordon was great at creating opportunities for himself. However, he was lousy at creating opportunities for anybody else. So, pretty much the entire league knew that once the ball went into Gordon's hands on the offensive end, it wasn't going anywhere else but towards the basket.
  3. This Serena Williams-Elena Dementieva semi is very entertaining. Third set, Williams just broke Dementieva at 6-6, now serving for the match.
  4. Surprisingly, Murray has actually beaten Federer in 6 of 8 matches they've played against each other, so it's not a given Federer is winning Wimbledon.
  5. Roddick manages to finish off the match, finally, setting up semifinals of Roddick-Murray and Haas-Federer.
  6. Roddick just broke Hewitt at 4-4 in the 5th and is now serving for the match.
  7. I'd like to see that but it's not something I'd ever predict. When's the last time Federer has lost to Roddick? Roddick did beat Federer in April of 2008, but is 2-16 all time against Federer, I believe.
  8. Well, quick turnaround for the Gold Cup next weekend now. I hope there's not too much of a letdown for the next game (but at least it's against Grenada and not, say Honduras).
  9. It's a disappointing result after the first half, but I'd have taken a 2-3 result as respectable from the outset.
  10. Almost halfway through Wimbledone now, and surprisingly there are still 5 Americans left. There are the usual suspects, the Williams sisters and Roddick, along with two qualifier unknowns, Jesse Levine (currently up a set in his match against #19 Wawrinka) and Melanie Oudin (just defeated #6 Jankovic).
  11. I don't always agree with him, but Bill Simmons writes one funny draft diary. My favorite excerpts:
  12. Yeah, it was the Spurs first pick of the draft, too. I wonder if they're just shocked right now.
  13. DeJuan Blair to the Spurs.
  14. Well, there goes Sam Young, so it looks like scouts did actually see Pitt play last year.
  15. And the Pistons select DaJuan....Summers.
  16. ESPN just put up a poll for who was the biggest steal of the first round, and Hansbrough was one of the choices...
  17. It's official, Minnesota to run NBA's first 5-guard offense, where everyone brings the ball up the court.
  18. I'm curious if teams simply don't want to give Blair guaranteed money.
  19. So...why would a team draft 2 point guards?
  20. Interesting article on yesterday's game from Spain's perspective.
  21. 5 seed Juan Martin del Potro was upset in the second round by Lleyton Hewitt. This leaves Roddick as the highest remaining seed in his quarter of the bracket.
  22. At this point it's more about hoping for a good draw, a-la 2002. Given the way the seeds match up right now, the US could end up in a potential nightmare draw with a seeded European team plus the Netherlands and an unseeded CONMEBOL team like Paraguay.
  23. Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Brazil, England, Argentina, France.... I don't think the US could pass any one of them. Now, if France somehow misses the World Cup... You named 8. There's only 7 seeds. So we'd need 2 of those to miss. It's not likely at all. Do the seeds just go by the world rankings? Rankings plus an effect from the previous 2 World Cups. http://www.football-rankings.info/2009/06/2010-wc-seeding-formula-based-on.html
  24. Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Brazil, England, Argentina, France.... I don't think the US could pass any one of them. Now, if France somehow misses the World Cup...
  25. Yeah, if there's one thing I am confident about with this squad, it's that they'd beat the ever loving crap out of that '94 squad.
