  1. Got 122 in 8:39. Had 121 about 6 minutes in, but forgot about the Memphis Grizzlies for a good 2 minutes, along with the rest of the world.

Well, at least the Cubs actually have a viable backup 3B now.
  3. They were 27th of 32 teams. Averaged about 28 minutes per game. Had at least a couple games where it was about 22 minutes.
  4. I'm kind of hoping the defense will be improved simply because they shouldn't have to play 40+ minutes per game, assuming the offense can use more of the clock.
  5. You could argue that, sure. But people tried saying that last year too. The Bears, with Cutler, are much better than they were last year. I'd give the edge to Minny, just because I anticipate a growing period with Cutler. Doesn't mean the Bears won't win it though. What's their to grow? It's not like getting a new QB is throwing off all the offensive chemistry. The team has had 3 different QBs start the majority of its games the last 3 years. And it's not like Cutler is inexperienced and will need a ton of time to learn the offense. He should be fine to run the entire playbook by opening day. And a lot of his success comes from extending plays anyway. If their is a growth period w/ Cutler the same can be said with Rosenfels or Favre, even with playing for Childress years ago. There, I only mention it because I've been particularly annoyed by it already several times today (not here).
  6. The Cubs had just won 4 in a row and were playing their 14th game in a row in a sequence of 20 straight without an off-day. Criticize perhaps giving all the regular right-handers the day off, but don't criticize the concept of the day off, or that the Cubs may as well have forfeited.

    Week 5

Well, you know, any time you get a chance to trade for a 37 yo catcher with a leg injury, you have to make it happen.

    Week 4

Sure, now Theriot hits a grand slam. :)
  9. Blood = flagrant. Except at the end of game 5, of course.
  10. I can watch this all day:
  11. The Bulls aren't a championship level team. However, they are very talented right now, and it seems oddly timed to mention no defense when the two biggest plays of last night's game were defensive plays (well, one was a defensive-offensive play).
  12. You know, watching that Hinrich layup again, it looks like Rondo got a piece of that on the way down.
  13. Yeah, Allen will go for 50 or something, and that's something the Bulls just can't overcome. Completely ignoring that Pierce and Davis fouled out... also, its in Boston... Celtics will win Yeah, the Bulls have been completely outclassed in Boston this series...
  14. Yeah, Allen will go for 50 or something, and that's something the Bulls just can't overcome.
  15. Please tell me Boston is out of TOs.
  16. Toss 3 guys on Allen, one each on House and Scalabrine.
  17. Textbook moving screen there on Big Baby to free House.
  18. How do the Bulls possibly screw this one up? 4-point play?
  19. The correct answer was Brad Miller, and 40 feet from the basket.
  20. Why do you not foul him with his back to the basket there? The Celtics have no timeouts, and he can't tie the game with 2 free throws.
  21. if luongo comes off his mountain and lays an egg this could happen, dont see it happening though Me neither, but I want to be optimistic as long as possible. :)
  22. Yes they do. no offense to Blues fans but they are not as good as the Hawks. Also, even though it was a sweep, 3 or those games were pretty close. I am leaning towards the Canucks winning this series, but it is not a slam dunk. I can see the Canucks almost dominating and winning it in 5. If the series goes deep, I like the Hawks chances. I'm worried about that too, but it's just my general paranoia. And the fact that the last two times these two teams played each other Vancouver kicked the living crap out of the Hawks. I think the only way that happens is if Khabi comes off his mountain and just lays an egg. Which could happen, but I think he is going to be fine and this is going to be a 6/7 game series Hawks in 4.
  23. After taking about 12 hours to soak everything in, here's what I'm most annoyed about: - After the Celtics started getting back into the game after being down 11, Del Negro didn't call a TO to stop the bleeding until the game was already back within 2. VDN really needs to attend some sort of time out strategy seminar over the summer or something. - Where the [expletive] was Tyrus Thomas in the second half and OT, after Boston finally figured out how to counter the small lineup with constant dribble-drives? - Why in the world was Hinrich guarding Marbury in the OT, while Pierce was putting on a clinic on Salmons and Rose couldn't keep up with Rondo? Also, with Marbury AND Tony Allen on the floor simultaneously, why are you even guarding them? - There is no doubt that by the book, Rondo's foul on Miller was a flagrant. He even admitted as such after the game. He wasn't going for the ball, not even close. If the best argument against a flagrant is that "you don't call that at the end of the game, because you can't let officiating decide the game", well my response is this: Not calling a flagrant there did decide the game with officiating.
  24. Right, a desperation swat at the ball where Rondo simply misjudged how long and quick his arm was by about 4 feet and 2 seconds. He wasn't anywhere near the ball.
  25. No, I think the Bulls have been doing it right. Among Pierce/Allen/Rondo, you still want your worst defender on Rondo, as you'd rather make him beat you than the other 2. Never Allen.
