    Week 3

At least I probably won't lose by one point this week.
  2. No, the NBA doesn't work like that. Even if it did, that would mean the Bulls would play Cleveland. Thankfully, it doesn't, so the Bulls would play Philly. I thought the NBA started reseeding after the 1st round recently? Or did they stop doing it recently? Or am I just crazy and Im just making stuff up? :D Making stuff up. The NHL started that practice recently.
  3. 2111 and 2112 first round picks. That is a future I would not mind mortgaging. Your grandkids will forever rue the Anquan Boldin deal, however. I'd mortgage bukie's grandkids' future for Anquan Boldin. Any day of the week. The child in my avatar is already crying about it.

  5. So far, in 2 weeks I've lost by 2 points, and tied.
  6. 2111 and 2112 first round picks. That is a future I would not mind mortgaging.
  7. -65 points for one of my opponent's pitchers and I could still lose if his last starter is even decent.
  8. Let's play this game slightly differently... Similarities between the Cubs this year and the Cubs last year, after 10 games: - Team was 6-4 and challenging for the division - Team was in second, a game behind St. Louis - Team outscored their opponents by 8 runs total over 10 games (well, only 4 in 2008 to this point) - Bullpen blew 2 games late, lost one game in the 10th - Major bullpen concerns about a shaky closer with a ERA around 9 and a lefty that can't get anyone out - Kosuke is a hitting machine - Concerns about an expensive starting corner OF not hitting and being hurt (well, last year it took 13 games for the corner OF to be hurt)
  9. Pure luck that my pitching finally started turning around as soon as I posted that it blows. Still, with average pitching you'd be wiping the floor with me. I'm not sure who that is wearing Marco Scutaro's jersey this week, though.
  10. I'm greedy. Anaheim, St. Louis, and Columbus, please.
  11. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I think goony's head just exploded.
  12. Lakers over Jazz in 4 Hornets over Nuggets in 6 Mavs over Spurs in 6 Blazers over Rockets in 5 Lakers over Blazers in 6 Mavs over Hornets in 6 Lakers over Mavs in 4 Cavs over Pistons in 5 Bulls over Celtics in 4 Magic over Sixers in 5 Heat over Hawks in 6 Cavs over Heat in 5 Bulls over Magic in 5 Bulls over Cavs in 6 Bulls over Lakers in 5 ...what?
  13. I expected Ichiro to get back into action slowly. Apparently I was wrong.
  14. You have to be aggressive down 3 in the ninth when your run is basically meaningless.
  15. Tends to happen when a team is in a lot more games and is patient at the plate, creating a lot of scoring chances.
  16. Bleh, my pitching blows. Think I'll try another closer.
  17. Another Dobrow bit that made me chuckle, regarding closers:
  18. I like Larry Dobrow. Seems like an odd nit to pick when Theriot is hitting around .500 and Fukudome is OPSing over 1.000.
  19. 15 word synopsis of the Orlando Magic: They are the Bulls, except with Howard instead of Tyrus. I like Tyrus, but really.
  20. This could be the most oddly timed rant in the history of NSBB.
  21. I understand that, but have they even had anything to play for for a couple weeks? They had the lead on the 2 seed prior to this last stretch. That's huge in the grand scheme of things.
  22. Here's what I think: SJ over Anaheim 4-1 Detroit over Columbus 4-0 St. Louis over Vancouver 4-2 Chicago over Calgary 4-1 Boston over Montreal 4-2 Washington over NY 4-0 New Jersey over Carolina 4-1 Pittsburgh over Philadelphia 4-3 Detroit over Chicago 4-2 SJ over St. Louis 4-1 Boston over Pittsburgh 4-2 New Jersey over Washington 4-3 Detroit over SJ 4-3 Boston over New Jersey 4-2 Detroit over Boston 4-1 I think the Hawks will beat anyone in a series except Detroit, however. So if they screw up, I really think the Hawks have a chance to win it all.
  23. What are they when they lead by 3 or more at the end of 7 innings?
  24. Guzman probably didn't expect to hit today.
  25. The ump giveth, and the ump taketh away.
