  1. I'm not basing this on anything concrete, but it would seem to me the team with home-ice and a week of rest would be most susceptible right away. So, I think the Blackhawks' best shot at this series would be to steal game 1 right away before Vancouver knows what hit them.
  2. I said all along they had to win a series to really capitalize on the momentum they've built. I still think that is the case. Everything from here on out is gravy. As long as they don't embarrass themselves this round, it's not going to hurt them to lose it. They were the 4th best team in the conference and made it to the final four of the conference. They played exciting hockey, won three home playoff games and generally fulfilled all the promise they had. Obviously winning this series and matching up with Detroit would be a tremendous boost, but they are still in line to improve going into next year and take the next step. Really, though, the Blackhawks were the 3rd best team in the conference, two poor performances against the Canucks notwithstanding. These are two pretty evenly-matched teams, with the Blackhawks having been the far better team in the first half of the season, and the Canucks having been the better team in the second half of the season.

    Week 4

Boo, Cubs offensive effort. Yay, Dan Haren CG!
  4. I think if the Hawks can just focus on what they do better than their opponent (skating, finesse), and not get caught up in the bullying/physical play, they should win tonight. I remain convinced the Hawks can beat any team outside of Detroit in a 7-game series.
  5. Have the results of the MRI been announced? Hamstring strain, day-to-day, likely to play game 5. Might not even need to be carried onto the floor by his teammates or get up from a wheelchair.
  6. With Al Davis in charge, this is as good as a Mad Libs. Fill in the blank.
  7. You don't think Garnett is in an obvious decline? If not statistically, at least physically.
  8. The way I see it, Tyrus should have been looking to distribute the ball in that situation, not because of the difference in FT shooting with the guards (who were missing every other FT late too, so no fair to bag on Tyrus), but because it would have (A) milked more of the clock, and (B) been less susceptible to a turnover, as the ocean of difference in ball-handling skills would make a fair assumption.
  9. That's odd, I was allowed to drop my extras.
  10. Oh darn, there goes the possibility of the Bulls having home court in a series. :)

    Week 3

If I lose by less than 5 points again, I'm going to throw something. Probably at Andy Sonnanstine.
  12. They still aren't winning this series, unless this game has the same effect the end of game 2 had on the Bulls. However, at least it's going the distance.
  13. Why jump out on him? Just awful defensive series there.
  14. It happens so rarely, I feel the need to point it out...that was actually good defense by the Bulls.
  15. I really have no issue with picking Freeman, but I'd still like to see them address the line with a player that may actually play one day.

    Week 3

Another week, another single digit deficit going into the last day. This time, at least, I have pitching starts.
  17. Or...the 31st pick, even.
  18. No offense but if you weren't here through the horrible years you don't deserve to be here for the good years soon to come. Yes, an obvious time to bandwagon jump. Not in the Montana/Rice/Young years, that would be too obvious. Real bandwagon jumpers jump for the Alex Smith/Michael Crabtree combo.
  19. Nicks to the Giants at 29, which leaves Britt as the next best receiver available. I'm really doubting at this point Britt falls to the 49th pick.

    Week 3

Still somehow up 6 with a 2-1 start advantage the rest of the week and an outclassed roster. Still need good offense and pitching outings to hold on.
  21. The Bears are paying Cutler just over 1 million in salary this year. Orton is going to make 995,000 this year. So, really, in the Orton-Cutler exchange, the Bears are out about 10k.
  22. Mental note: Avoid Larry Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh D in fantasy draft.

    Week 3

All I need now is 3-4 more breaks, and I may actually win this week.

    Week 3

Yeah, not sure whether that's a good thing or bad thing, but I'll find out later tonight. Didn't want to activate Zimmerman too soon, and that's already cost me a decent start from him. On the flip side, anyone interested in a SS or OF? :)
  25. What. I had no idea there were so many 14-year-old posters that had no memory prior to 2000.
